Flew from CLT to BTR this morning. Remember NC has been issuing real ID for awhile so not a big deal there.
If you didnt have real ID your shite in the bin went to the left and they pretended to look at it. If you had real ID your bin stayed on the right which means grab your shite and move out.
Not a big deal at CLT.

Was going to go get my Real ID but I have a TWIC from TSAs site this will be accepted in place of the real ID.

I read somewhere that the new scanners don’t scan the TWIC and some travelers have been asked for an alternate ID. It was on the internet so I’m not sure if it’s true although more than one person has said that.
It’s an acceptable form of ID so they have to take it.
I already had my Real ID and have a TWIC card now so I’m going to test it out when I fly here in 2 weeks.

Honest question for people that haven’t gotten the Real ID yet. It’s been available for over a decade, is there a reason you haven’t done it? Is is a “big government” thing?

Why would I get it if I hadn't needed to and have just been able to continue to renew my license online and not go to a DMV? I can't think of the last time I stepped foot in one. Have an appointment for my Real ID now in a few weeks though.

Why would i voluntarily go to the DMV and wait with the other idiots?
I renew my license online.
I'd rather bring my passport to the airport than go to the DMV and provide the silly pieces of paper they are requiring to get this Real ID. It's ridiculous. I have a passport, a twic card, Clear, Global Entry. Why the frick do I have to go to the DMV and show them my fricking gas bill so i can get a cool star on my license? I've done more than enough background checks for the other forms of identification. Just put the stupid star on my license the next time i renew online. It should be as simple as me putting my passport# in some tab when i go to renew online and they use that to verify me.

Because I do not go to the DMV. Can do everything online and have it mailed. I also have a passport, TWIC, TSA pre check, and Clear. Why waste 4-5 hours of my life sitting in a DMV (in Oklahoma they are called Tag Agencies) only to have that same ID mailed to my address (same as doing it online).
As the poster above me stated...there should be an online option for Real ID's where you can input your passport information, TWIC #, or Flyer number where a traveler has already had multiple background checks done. I guess that would make too much sense. I am not waiting at a DMV just to have a star on my drivers license.

Have Clear. No issues in Vegas. Didn’t notice any huge issues anywhere else.

Did a Wednesday day (work) trip ORD <-> SFO. Got through ORD PreCheck in no more than 60 seconds. Touchless ID helps, but even manual check had a short line. Came back from SFO on the red eye and no issue there, either. They don't have Touchless, but I got through in a few minutes.
Honestly, don't even think issue is the airports right now; it's DMV that are overwhelmed with lines. Not sure about other places, but Chicago had a multi-block line in The Loop Tuesday through Thursday. Not sure about today.

The problem using a TWIC card is most TSA agents are idiots and have no idea what that is, even though on the back it says issued by the TSA.

Has the TSA made this overly complicated i.e. first there is TSA itself then 'clear","global entry",passport and passport card and now I understand there's an even 'higher level' clearance being offered/touted ! Seems like TSA can almost DICTATE what the flying public buys by simply manipulating the 'speed' of the various lines ! What a crock !

I flew yesterday, got to the airport 3 hours early just in case. I have clear and pre check but no Real Id. All I had to do was remove my belt
