Passport Agency is reporting an 18 week turn-around on renewals. 12 weeks for expedited renewals.

Last month, when I submitted mine, expedited renewal time was 4 weeks.
Yesterday, expedited was 6 weeks.
Today, it is 12 weeks.

Apparently, our government can't afford to hire the workers needed to handle to workload.

Yet, we will soon have door-to-door vaccination verifiers.

Get your renewals in early, folks.

I mailed my renewal the last week of may. Tracked it and it was delivered in two days. Received an email last week saying that they received it and it would be 12 weeks for processing. I’m already at 5 weeks since it was mailed so it will take a total of 17 weeks. Absurd. Luckily I don’t need it for anything...yet.

Sent our renewals in mid-May. Just got a notice last week that they recieved the applications and put it into their system. They said another 12 weeks from there to process. So I'm expecting about an 18 week total turnaround time.

Thank god we have no immediate travel plans.

I renewed mine and my wife’s by mail in April. It said the wait was 12 weeks for regular processing. Took almost a month for status to go from received to processing. I tried calling to upgrade to expedited because we have a trip booked later this month. Waited on hold for 2 hours before I gave up. Ended up getting ours about 10 weeks after I mailed them.

I applied for expedited service last week of May.

My trip is July 17.

I’m somewhat stressed at this point.

My friend did the same and his trip was last week and he didn't get to go. Mine expires in 2026. Thinking about starting the renewal process now

Can you not make an appointment and get it same day at the office like you used to?

You cant get appointments. They are booked solid. We sent our renewal in early April and it took exactly 12 weeks. The wife and I each stayed on hold for roughly 8hrs before getting a rep on the phone to check the status. Its ridiculous. We got lucky and got them a week before our trip.

I’ve been checking for about 3 hours each of the past two days trying to grab an appointment… willing to fly anywhere to get passports in time.

There are zero appointments anywhere.

In the past I know people that have called their congressman for assistance but it sounds like with the volume of people having problems that might not be much help either

I've got a call into my Congressman's office. They have said, "we'll see what we can do."

slightly off-topic... I'm really wondering why all the down-votes in the OP?
