Need Opinions on the following:
•Sandals Grand Antigua
•Sandals Royal Barbados or Sandals Barbados
•Sandals Grenada
•Sandals Royal Bahamian

How are the beaches at all of these? Which places would you recommend? Looking to hear pros and cons of all. Thanks!

Pros: you know what you’re getting

Cons: they’re all the same place so it doesn’t really matter which one you go to

I felt like The Royal Bahamian was a dump. I went there because it had a private island. Only snorkeling to be had was from a boat unless you brought your own gear. Entertainment was horrible to non existent. Food was ok. This was my first all inclusive. I prefer Royal Caribbean Cruises. I did a review on Trip Advisor for this place.

Pros: you’ve got some wit
Cons: you’re apparently bitter and need a vacation yourself. Chill out and go drink an andygator, “Abitafan08”.

You can get a lot more for your money than Sandals if you do a little homework. I wanted to do my honeymoon in Jamaica this summer and was thinking sandals at first but ended up staying at a place called Sunset at The Palms in Negril. It was rated much higher on every booking outlet for a little more than half the price of a Sandals resort. We couldn't have asked for a nicer, better trip and it was also All inclusive(adults only). To each is own but I think you can get a lot more bang for your buck elsewhere.

Unless you've got some big Sandals coupon or the like, you'll get a whole lot more for your money elsewhere.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. I was flying back from my vacation to London and didn’t feel like paying for the WiFi.

But you’re right. Perhaps I’m bitter and need a vacation. Unfortunately I now have to wait two whole months before my 15 day trip through northern Italy.

For the record, the beer was better in London than andygator.

Pretty terrible summary.

They’re fun. Food is decent, not great. Couples only so no kids. Activities every day and night.

If you want a relaxing and simple vacation, they’re fun.

I meant it as pretty generic and plain, not as in a tin of kids everywhere

I did my honeymoon at Jamaica Sandals and I regretted it. It is not that it is bad or anything but I might as well in anywhere really. It is kinda like a cruise on land. After that I started doing research on trip advisor and other websites for my future trips. You can find a better place with a lot more class and authenticity at a smaller resort.

Our honeymoon in 2012 was at the sandals montigo bay. Really enjoyed it, had a fantastic beach, but I will agree that you are paying for the name with them. From the two inclusives I’ve been on and fro talking to others, most of these resorts are similar in food (buffet style) and accommodations. Use bookit or booking to see what other resorts are available and def read reviews, but take with a grain of salt.people forget that although you are on a resort, you are also in a 3rd world country.

Just got back from sandals exuma. Wonderful and safe choice. I am sure there are others that give you a comparable experience for less but we didn’t want to look for it. We also went for the location vs. experience.

The one in Grenada is really nice and the food was actually good. Only 5 minutes from the airport which is incredible.

I’ve heard the Jamcian ones aren’t as nice.

•Sandals Royal Bahamian

We did our honeymoon here back in 2002. They had just recently renovated it I think. It certainly was very clean on our visit.

Pros:
-short plane trip, so relatively short travel days.
- almost everything is paid for, so no surprise credit card statement a month later
- plenty of room to get away and relax with your sig other.
- couples only(no kids or partying folks) so it way relatively quiet. Swim up bar would get a little rowdy some afternoons, but easy to avoid if you want to.

Cons
- Not really a great value. There are more moderately priced AI's out there.
- Food was just okay. I didn't really have a bad meal there, but wasn't wowed by anything either.
- Main Pool got really crowded most days we were there. I think there were 2 pools, so it was easy to escape, but the other didn't have drink service from what I remember.
- Beach chairs were old and in need of replacing when we were there. Otherwise beach was great.

ETA - I wouldn't NOT recommend it, as I think your vacation is a lot of what you make of it. You could probably find something better if you poke around though. I didn't have that luxury for my honeymoon as we did a destination wedding that required a lot of planning and leg work.

Sandals is a name brand that spends more money on advertising and less on the actual resort. I too love all inclusive but an hour on google will help you find a better value. The best bet is to pick the location you want the most and then search out alternatives to Sandals.

Tipping shouldn’t be an expectation at a tropical all inclusive where you won’t want to bring money around.

X's 2 for Grenada. My favorite island trip. It's not for everyone, but the people, food, things to do, culture etc. is amazing.

I didn't stay at the Sandals (used to be LaSource), but we did eat at the Aquarium, which is right next door!
