That describes my friends. Beach every year. Some have never flown. Almost none have a passport.

It’s been this way for years with many of my friends.

I don't typically have to navigate anything with friends. That's reserved for family.

If I have friends that like to travel, we talk about that.
If I have friends that like Disney, we talk about that.
If I have friends that like to tour breweries, we talk about that.
If I have friends that like space launches, we talk about that.

I really hope you mean you're willing to bitch about Disney with them

Nope. We are DVC, we go often. We have family that works for Disney and makes it reasonable.

Inflation and flights are expensive, so is the food you love so much. Traveling on planes and climate change.

The way we travel and the costs is political.

Also the restrictions when traveling, like the entire mask thing. Really that whole period made traveling such a bitch. There was a political aspect behind where you could travel to. Vaxxed or not? People couldn’t even travel to the US to play sports, but if you wanted to travel by foot across the border, come on in.

I actually prefer driving to closer places because of how miserable flying had become.

We have lots of friends like this. I don’t really worry or think about it too much. I always invite couples or family members to do trips (only those that I am confident can afford it), with us as a courtesy and hope they will accept but don’t take offense when they don’t.

We don’t have to do everything with our friends. It’s fine that they have different interests.

Remember what I said earlier in this thread about people having to interject politics into everything including travel?

Sounds like it's time to trade in the old models for new ones, mate

Kids under the age of 17-18 do not appreciate Europe. Always amuses me when OT braggarts put down the beach or Disney for a family trip because they’re going to Europe with kids.
