We stayed in Cinque Terre and the beauty was completely overshadowed by the hordes of tourists. No desire to go back. It’s a shame.

I felt the same about Positano. Ravello was magical, however.

Yeah. I love Italy, but places like Rome, Florence, Venice, Cinque Terre, and the Amalfi Coast are all places that I will never go back to. The smaller cities and towns are leaps and bounds more appealing to me.

What did you think of Bellagio? We took the ferry one day (hopped around the lake a bit) and it was really crowded.

I'll eventually get around to writing my trip review. Still playing catch up with sleep and work.

Same with the review. I enjoyed Bellagio. The first day there was jet lag day so we slept and ate. We did a lot of walking around the second day and took a boat ride on the lake. It's definitely touristy but was well worth the visit.

How'd you like that gentle breeze when you walked the stairs to the top observation platform? 3/4ths of the group I was with stepped outside and immediately retreated to shelter. I made it to the top but on the way the wind ripped my LSU cap off my head. You're absolutely right though, very beautiful sight.

Walking into St. Peter’s and my first time at the Grand Canyon are the only two places that have left me speechless.

Somebody's gotta do it:

Crater Lake was pretty awesome, too. Deepest lake in the USA.

Sitting right outside of a little town in Alaska named Talkeetna(sp).
Had just graduated college and flew up to visit a family member and she dropped me off there for a night. I had already flown up to Denali and landed at base camp and flew back. I had a few drinks and then grabbed a drink and headed over to the river. Sitting there all by myself where two rivers merged with Mt. Mckinley in the back ground was just so awesome.

Second would be jumping on a sailboat in Seattle on a perfectly clear day and sailing out in the sound. I had a view of the city and three mountain ranges.

Sorry for the spelling on this.

First time I went there I saw two chicks bathing nude where the Talkeetna River meets the Big Susutna River. They were not bothered at all by the presence of others.

Man, I wish I could have had that to add to the view.
