Looking for recommendations on all inclusives in the Caribbean

This will be for a honeymoon trip. We don’t want to spend more time planning a honeymoon after we have spent a lot of time planning a wedding. We just want to fly to an all inclusive and sit on the beach for a week. We wouldn’t mind having some excursion type things to do on the side. Also not looking to go to a high end place as we have already ran over our wedding budget enough.

Isla Mujeras has at least one or two all inclusives. Not sure the quality of the all inclusives but that island is a wonderful honeymoon destination. If not there riviera maya has tons of all inclusives.

Resist the cheap allure of AIs in the Dominican Repugnant or Jamaica.
PS: Don't get dead in Mexico.
PPS: Post pics of the bride-to-be and I can better match her to a specific resort....

Just got back from beach palace in Cancun. It would suffice for what you are looking for. Beach was amazing, service was exceptional, and overall a solid resort. It does have kids but on the beach there weren't a ton. Food options were a bit limited but that is what you get on a smaller budget.

I agree on Mexico. I ran the numbers a dozen times when my wife and I went, and nothing came close to the value of Riveria Maya.
We ended up in Playa at the Paradisus le Perla and it was amazing. Best resort food ive ever had, plus the downtown area was very cool and nice.

We did 5 nights at an all-inclusive and paid about $1300 per person for the entire trip.

Secrets Maroma Beach. It's in Riviera Maya in Mexico. Smaller all inclusive resort but you will not be disappointed. I posted a review in the trip reviews thread at the top of this board.

We have been to a few AI’s over the years with other couples. All were adults-only, which is nice and I’d definitely recommend that for a honeymoon. Here’s a brief summary of the ones in which I’ve stayed-
Secrets The Vine- in Cancun, good food, nice rooms, lots of people, plenty of activities, easy to take the cheap bus around Cancun, always felt safe
Sun Palace- just at the end of the hotel zone in Cancun, easy bus around Cancun like Secrets above, felt safe, ok food, not as crowded as Secrets The Vine so you end up getting to know other people at the hotel, this was probably the most fun place to us
Chic Punta Cana- in Dominican Republic, pretty resort, so-so food, kind of isolated, not enough to do, wouldn’t go back I don’t think. My favorite part of this trip was a day tour we took to see the “real Dominican Republic” in the nearby town of Higuey where most of the resort workers actually live. Eye opening.
Sandals Ocho Rios- in Jamaica, nice resort but too sprawling, food was kind of gross to me (though I was pregnant at the time, so maybe that affected my taste?), going off property/ into town felt unsafe, wouldn’t go back I don’t think
That’s all I can think of for now. Of the places I’ve been, I’d definitely choose Mexico. We took a snorkeling excursion one day down to Akumal and I think I’d try to stay in that area next time. I know they opened a new Secrets in Akumal so I’d check prices there if I were you. It was a small and nice area south of Cancun & Playa, with great snorkeling, good food, lots of cenotes and other activities nearby (zip lining, ATV riding, etc.), and closer to Tulum if that’s on your list of things to see.
Congrats on the upcoming wedding!

We did the Sun Palace and went to the other palace resorts for different meals. I liked that option.

Excellence punta Cana in the dr is awesome plus newly renovated. It can be done for around 3500 with a great room ocean view.
I will say this whatever you do fly first class

You can search all-inclusive Caribbean vacations on bookit.com LINK
I've been to Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Cozumel, and Cancun. My favorite was Cancun - price, beach, food, travel time, overall it was my best experience. Stayed at Golden Parnassus (adults only) and enjoyed it. Not a posh 5 star retreat, but it was affordable, all-inclusive, multiple restaurants, spacious beach, crystal blue water - I would go back with no hesitation. I don't hate kids, I just don't want to hear them screaming and crying when I am trying to relax on my vacation. I am willing to pay a little extra $ for that.

We did the Sun Palace and did not care for it. The rooms were awesome but everything else about it was bad. Not enough restaurants and its more of a hotel than a resort. We are use to spread out nice tropical resorts and Sun Palace is not that. The beach is tiny as well.
If you are going to go to Mexico, look at the reports above for Secrets Maroma Beach. Its a much better option though more pricy....
