My family of 4 went to Ireland back in 2022. We stayed in all 3 places you mentioned.

Galway - Park House Hotel. Great location and a nice breakfast in house. Great jump off point for the Cliffs of Moher.

Killarney - We stayed at a traditional Bed & Breakfast inside Killarney National Park. It was a wonderful experience, but it has since been bought by the park and converted into something else. We had also looked at the Lake Hotel in just outside of town, I remember it having good reviews. Go eat at Murphy Browne's. Great restaurant in Killarney. Also go visit Muckross Abbey. An old cemetery with ruins of an old church. We visited around sunset and it was serene.

Dublin - our least favorite of all the stops. We stayed at the Fitzwilliam Hotel on St. Stephens Green. It wasn't great, just okay. There are probably a million better places. The Green (park) was nice though. We had a nice afternoon meal at The Bank on College Green. It is a cool space, high open ceilings with lots of light and a huge bar.

If at all possible, try to get to the Dingle Peninsula. Not sure of your plans, but the Slea Head drive is a must. Can be done in a day on your drive down from Galway to Killarney.

The least interesting city in Ireland. See the Post Office, the Guinness Storehouse, and get out.

Going to be in Dublin at the end of September before heading to Oktoberfest. We are staying at the Premier Inn at the city centre in the Temple Bar area. It isn't anything fancy but got pretty good reviews, fairly priced, and very centrally located to a lot of stuff. Not planning on being in it much, so it works well for us. Basically across the street from the Long Hall, which I plan to be spending a lot of time .

Second Dingle. I'd also recommend hitting Cobh or any of those charming fishing towns on the southern side of County Cork.

I'll third Dingle. Spent a week there a few years back and had the best vacation. We constantly think about going back!

I suggest Dingle over all those.
. I used Hotels.com and Airbnb and just got what looked best. Worst mistake I made was a night in limerick that is like the Detroit of Ireland.

Yes Slea head is amazing. You can walk anywhere in Dingle. The peninsula is an amazing drive. That blue seafood restaurant in the main strip was the best meal I had in Ireland.
My biggest regret is I was only in Dingle two days. It was my favorite spot. Dublin has some sights but it's a curry that kids like most other cities.

The National Museum is worth visiting as well as Glasnevin Cemetery & Kilmainham Jail.

But in general I must agree; some random winners for my tastes from all around the Republic- New Grange/Boyne, Clonmacnoise, Cashel, the Aran Islands, Kinsale, the Burren, Adare village, Skellig Michael.
