My first trip to Banff was like that

Have any of you ever had a place impact you like this. It’s almost like a spiritual thing
Yosemite Park, especially from the Tunnel View lookout
My second is Greece. We spent 10 days among a few islands and it still is our top trip.

While planning the trip, I kept reading about not trying to do too much in the time we had so as to be able to fully take and appreciate the things we were able to see. All the sites kept saying to see the things we miss on return visits. Wife and I kept telling each other that this would likely be our only visit to Iceland because there were so many other places we also want to visit. Only so much money and time.
Glad you had a great trip. FWIW I see this a lot and there's just no perfect answer. You can't see everything for the perfect amount of time. Everything is so individual, I've seen things for 2 mins that was 1 minute too long that some people want to spend all day at.
My opinion is that you are better off seeing more things and planning a trip to return to see what you really loved.
I will say I think the one thing few people do on trips, is plan some off time to just relax and do nothing or to give you that extra time so if you over run on something you have time for it.

Definitely on our list. Looking at flying in, renting a campervan and doing Glacier National up to Banff.

Africa. Spent 10 days in June in Kenya and Tanzania on safari.
Were there any times it felt unsafe. And I don’t mean from the wildlife.

No. Kenya isn't as 3rd world as alot of other places in Africa. It's not like you're going to Somalia or the Congo when you go on safari. English is actually their primary language. There's alot of people walking everywhere in a country that isn't very walkable. Some of the workers at our hotel said they walk 12 miles to work every morning like its the most normal thing in the world. Once you get to the camps the hospitality is amazing as alot of Africans go to school to work in the tourist service industry.
Zanzibar, Tanzania wasnt necessarily unsafe, but the 1 hour drive from the airport to the resort was eye opening. Its pretty 3rd world over there. People everywhere, no traffic regulations, ox carts, cooking in the streets, cows and various animals walking across the street. It was a trip driving back through it at night for our late flight. My wife and i were in complete silence just staring out the window for an hour. Made us thankful for what we have.

I agree with this. I would skip Zanzibar if I were going to do it again, but the beach and snorkeling were world class.
We flew US > Amsterdam > Kilimanjaro > bunch of dirt airstrips > Zanzibar > Amsterdam > US.
I would just fly from Kilimanjaro back to Europe and a Mediterranean beach instead if I wanted that experience.

I won't take long for you to realize why they call it God's Country.
