Hotels in Chicago for a Cubs game.

Trying to take my son and dad to a Cubs game this fall. Would fly in Friday for a day game on Saturday and fly out Sunday. Looking for something nice and safe for the game.

Anything on Magnificent Mile. Its a 10m ride on the L to get to Wrigley from the Chicago Ave station.

Hotel Blake Chicago or Palmer House. Both Hilton properties that are a quarter mile walk to Wrigley. As stated lots of good spots on the magnificent mile that are only a mile or so away.

Pull Google Maps and look at the area. Several hotels all around the stadium neighborhood. That’s a decent area.

The greatest concentration of hotels, across all price ranges, are in The Loop and River North. Use Google Maps and filter by price, rating, etc. From there, you can take the Red Line to/from Addison.
Most neighborhoods do not have an abundance of hotel options. If price truly doesn't matter for those two days + your preference is to be next to Wrigley, check out Hotel Zachary. It won't be cheap for a weekend series but game aside, Lake View is a great neighborhood and you can walk over to Southport Corridor, which is very family-friendly.

Echoing others, the Zachary is right across the street, but just stay river north or loop and take the red line (runs below State St) that’s part of the experience, IMO. If you stay in the loop, you can take the brown line as well and connect to red or even walk the neighborhood from either Belmont or Southport (which I also enjoy). It it’s an option for the flight, MDW>ORD

If you are only going to one game, absolutely stay river north and take the Red line of the L as pointed out. Most of your time will be concentrated closer to the Loop area. Riverwalk, etc. Those hotels should also be cheaper.
Wrigleyville is great but I wouldn't plan an entire weekend around staying just there, with a short jaunt into the city.
You may see if you can find a weekend when the sox are in town. Catch a game at both. Red line goes to both, so super easy.

I don't disagree it is easy to take the redline as for the first few days of our trip we were on the other side of the city and took the redline to Wrigley. With that said you can have some sketchy people with you and if it is his lets say elderly dad and son who could be on the younger side being right around the stadium for those 2 days and in the very safe area could be ideal. Its still easy to get to river north from there as well on busses or uber if wanted.

We are Hilton people and have stayed for the convience at the Hampton Inn/Hilton Garden Inn off of East Wacker. It's a short walk to the train from there and can easily get on the Red line to head to the Cubs game... anything in that area is clutch.
I enjoy that area because its close to the train, can walk to everything in that area and don't have to uber really if you dont want to... Win/Win..
That hotel is on the cheaper side...we've stayed at the Pendry near there as well (nicer more pricey) and on the other end of the Mag Mile but its not as close to hotels etc..
Being in the Center of everything off of East Wacker is great.

I bookmarked this place. Pretty cool spot, looks to be pricy but looks like last min they try to fill the rooms and is on the cheaper side.
It's 4 blocks from Wrigley... but not near all of the other stuff.

These are both downtown, over 5 miles away from Wrigley. Unless there are other properties with this name that I'm not seeing.

Crap you’re right I’m sorry. My Hilton app led me astray and I wasn’t paying attention. It gave the option for Wrigley field then put a pin downtown. I went to 2 games last year and stayed at Hotel Versey that was about a mile away and it was an easy walk to the stadium. I’m sure there are easy ways to take the train from other places. I was just more comfortable walking to and from the hotel.
