You live in Alabama and you’re worried that your standards will be too high for a city in California?

I’m in California right now and it’s been nothing but a pleasant experience so far.

Visited San Fran/Berkeley last year. Had a great time. See if the giants are in town, great hotels and restaurants. If you like horse racing or to gamble go to golden gate fields before it’s shut down.

Well that kinda depends where in Cali, no? If it were me, I’d turn it into a Napa trip.

Berkeley is nice. I was just out there not long ago. Feels like a cleaner, more local SF. A bunch of really good restaurants in the area too. Highly recommend Pizzeria da Laura.

Berkeley is fine. Yeah you’ll see some homeless tents and whack jobs but big f’n deal.

No, go to the game and enjoy it. And if you want to go to a bar before the game, go to Henry’s. Will feel more normal than the rest of Berkeley. Plus the view of the bay from the stadium is fantastic.

There are parts of the East Bay that are legit scary. You're fine in downtown Berkely/Cal campus just be careful where you stay and visit. It's a night game.

The same advice if someone was going to a Cubs game. Lots of amazing places in Chicago but you better stay the hell away from certain neighborhoods.

Sounds like you will be out there for a good bit based on the spread you are pulling off + the game.

Yes, certain areas of the Bay Area are areas you def want to avoid, but at the same time we just went a few months back and it was great. You'll be fine and it will be great.

Definitely rec to hit up Sausalito as well

None of those places are as dangerous as NOLA/BR
