What are some good things to do around here? We are staying on Santa Rosa beach. Looking for some good restaurants and places to go. #NotABaller

I would avoid George’s restaurant at Alys beach at all costs. Food was bland and overpriced. Also was the most pretentious group of patrons and waitstaff I’ve ever been around.

If you like pizza, try Bruno’s. Also, the Chanticleer eatery is very good.

Local Catch restaurant in Santa Rosa beach.

The food is good and it's not overpriced.

A few hours in Seaside is fun if you’ve never been. Pretty jam packed this time of year, but they have interesting little shops and if you are on a budget, lunch at the food trailers is not bad. Brunch at Bud and Ally’s is always nice.

Whiskey Bravo and Cafe 30a are also good options, as is the Old Florida Fish House.

George’s is glorious you dolt. Bland = grouper...because it being really light is kind of the point. I think you wish they were being pretentious...that’s just who they are.

Most everything is expensive down there. I like Chiringo's in Grayton across from the burned down Red Bar. Good, fresh casual food that is affordable. Most of the time we go to one of the 2 Goatfeather Seafood Markets & get fresh, steamed shrimp & fish & take it back to the condo. I still like the original Stinky's.

Stinky's is right there in Santa Rosa and used to be good. Haven't been in years.

The fried grouper sandwich for lunch at Seagrove Village Market was always a must, but I haven't been since they moved to a new location.

George's in Alys also used to be really good.

Everything else down there was overrated and/or overpriced.

Bruno's Pizza has a decent lunch buffet during the week if you want pizza.

Buddy’s market is great for steamed shrimp.

Go to the dune lake inlet in Grayton for a sunset.

Rent paddle boards in the back of watercolor...can get to Grayton from there.

Go off-roading off 98.

Modica market.

Sundog bookstore and record shop upstairs.

Taco shack in seaside.

Go down to the beach access in Dune Allen, instead of the big one at SR.

Stinky’s.

Yes, the new place to go is AJs.

Everything is relatively expensive.

We mostly stick to Rosemary, so I don’t have a ton of good recs but there’s shades, burger 30A, southside slice, buddy’s (as the person above said the steamed shrimp are the real deal), cowgirl kitchen and a few others but for what you get it’s typically pretty expensive.

We eat in about 50% of the time and then blow it out the other 50% - it kind of averages out.

Don’t go to destin seafood ice house or whatever that place is insanely over priced.

You may be correct but either way I don’t want to ever go there again. For example, I sat next to a very inebriated man who was fresh out of a cardiology fellowship, joining his dads practice and loudly proclaiming to his friend all nite how he was a better doctor than his dad and his partners. everyone at my table was in the medical field and we all couldn’t believe the audacity a person can have. St. Augustine is much more my speed although it’s a bit further and the beach itself isn’t as pretty.
