Thoughts on Dollywood? Is Dollywood a single day theme park or would you recommend going for multiple days on a trip to the smoky mountains?

It's my favorite park, a bunch of great coasters. Go during the week and you can ride everything multiple times in a single day.

Lightning Rod, Thunderhead, and Wild Eagle are by far the best rides. Last time we went we rode Wild Eagle 4 or 5 times in a row without ever waiting in line.

There is a water park there as well so you could make 2 days of it. Dollywood is the nicest, cleanest amusement park I've ever been to; you will enjoy it. The food there is fantastic as well, not the normal corndog, pizza and burgers at Six Flaggs and other parks.

Are you a coaster person? If you aren't, it's a shell of what it used to be with the craftsmen and such. It's full of the same crappy tourist shops as the rest of Kodak/Sevierville/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg.
If you like coasters, it's an amazing park.

If you like all the coasters, its a 2 day park. If you just enjoy theme parks, you could get by with 1 day. I did 2 and didnt feel like I got old of it and I am not a huge coaster person.

I like coasters, but I don’t think some people in the group do. So might have to pick and choose which ones to ride.

I took my 13 and 14 year old last fall. We did 2 days. You could do 1 but it'd be a lot. I'd suggest 2. You could manage 1 if you got the skip the line add on and/or went during a less busy time.

Absofreakinglutely. They put my arse in the front seat on Lightning Rod right after shutting it down for maintenance. Damn I was nervous.
I'll add Big Bear Mountain. Really fun and more thrilling than you think.
Overall, Wild Eagle was the best overall but so many great rides there.
I've only been once but I did notice that everyone seemed to leave the park around 3-4pm. I bet if you showed up during that time, you'd have MUCH shorter lines.

I’m probably going to make a trip this spring or summer. I have been to Silver Dollar City and liked it a lot. I hear Dollywood is comparable.

They are. I’d say Dollywood has better rides and Silver Dollar City has more flavor/culture to it.

Went in the fall and the amount of pumpkins and decorations in that place was absolutely crazy!
That plus the smell of apple cinnamon on a cool evening sent us back there twice.
My favorite park by far as an adult without kids or grandkids in tow.

If you’re going multiple days check season annual pass. It’s may be cheaper if you go more than once.

Went this past November with my wife and 5-year-old daughter. We bought the 2 day passes since the second day is cheaper when purchased together, but we knew we may just eat that second day expense if we felt like one day at the park was enough. We went during the week, crowds were low, pretty much walked onto any ride we wanted. Despite all of that, we were still glad we had purchased the 2-day pass and went a second day to finish seeing everything. I feel like 1.5 days is perfect. We only went to one of the shows, might could have made it a full 2 days if we hit a few more of those.

We are taking our kids for 2 days this summer. We went a few years ago for only 1 day, and it was a bit much to do in a day. There are several new coasters open this time, and its the first time our youngest will be tall enough for every ride.
