Do you like the non-assigned seats on Southwest?

First time I’ve flown with them and it seems like it’s a huge unnecessary headache.

No. But if I am flying southwest I can put up with it.

No. If I'm flying with family I'll take Spirit over Southsmwest because of this.
I really wish they would allow you to buy seats rather than allow you to buy zone 1 boarding.
The free bags are nice. But I'll pay an extra $30-50 to know where I'm sitting. Especially if I get a seat I like.
Nothing like getting on a SWA struggling to find a bin then getting into a middle seat.

I love it. I pay the extra to board first, almost always check my bag/clubs, sit in the emergency row aisle seat and read comfortably

I don’t love it, but I also pay for the early boarding. Nothing worse than getting in late and finding a seat in the front but having to put your bags 5+ rows behind you because people put their bags up as they’re walking down the aisle

Yes, makes traveling with a family on short notice alot less stressful

No because I’m always either paying for early boarding or check in early enough too get early B boarding groups. I always have my pick of the seats.

Don’t mind it. Get in with A boarding section and you can have whatever seat you want. Was able to get the exit row seat with no seat in front of me on Monday to Puerto Rico. It was glorious

1- Check your bags and only bring a bag on board that can fit under the seat in front of you. Given that SWA offers 2 free checked bags per person, you can avoid the pain of having to find an overhead bin.
2- Get their Priority credit card. That gives you 4 free boarding upgrades per year.
3- I’ll take SWA over other airlines any day because they make everything so easy, treat their employees well, make it easy to get free flights with points, and always value me as a customer.

I (or usually the wife) check in early and we get an A or early B boarding group. I usually don’t care that much where we sit when flying domestically. No biggie and it’s pretty easy and straight forward.

100% agree
Pre flight beers mean flight piss breaks and in the back of the plane I can get to the bathroom faster

I dont mind at all.. I pretty much always get an aisle seat and I prefer Midway over O'Hare... though I have actually taken a couple of SW flights out of OH

absolutely cannot stand it.
People act like idiots with saved seats and such. This is not the school bus.
It means I will choose not to fly southwest unless it's the only option.

This shouldn't be allowed. Your bags should go over your head or in front of you.

flying SW out of MSY is likely the single worst travel experience you can have. Be sure to book the 5am flight so you can witness social incompetence in its purest form

I fly the first flight out (nonstop) to Vegas and other than having to wake up way too early the incompetence seems on par with every other minute of every day down there

Never had a problem with it. Done it dozens of times. SW is so easy to get free flights that it’s hard to ignore.

I like it. But I'm judgemental and don't want to sit next to certain types of people for several hours

I took 3 SW flights last week all without issue. I forgot to checkin right at 24hr mark on return flight and got 2nd B group. Still found enough seats in the back to not be stuck in the middle.
