We are at the NSSHP right now. Was told the crowd would be much smaller. Baloney! This place is a darn zoo. Three times as many people now as there was today, and it was crowded. Lines are atrocious. So disappointing. They kick everyone out of the park at 5:00 then make you pay $125 to get back in. Disney should be ashamed. Lol.

Anyway, I have enjoyed spending time with our kids and grandkids. Otherwise, Disney sucks. Should change their name to Land of Lines. I just don't understand why people love this place so much. And yes, America is obese.
Rant over.
P.S. subtle brag, I'm broke....

My buddy is in WDW with his family right now as well. He told me that he was amazed at how truly fat people there tend to be. Also went on a fun rant about all the honeymooners.

We were there Wednesday-Sunday. I didn’t find the lines that bad for things we wanted to ride except for Flight of the Aviator. Had fast passes for just about everything else we wanted that was popular and did rope drop. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of scooters as the board made it sound like we’d be tripping over them.

Weather last week was hot so we would call it a day by mid-afternoon. Looked like it was going to be a bit more tolerable this week.

It’s fall break, plus with nsshp and food and wine going on, it’s going to be busy. Food and wine in October use to be my favorite time to go, it’s gotten crazy busy now too. Disney almost has no off season now that they have found events that draw people in, in what use to be the slow times.

Weather was cooler last 3 days but we got wet each day. Mixed blessings. Scooter people are in full force right. They are passing out gobs of candy so they all showed up it seems.

I haven't been to NSSHP in 12 years, but the lines were a lot smaller then than they were during the day. I guess that's changed.

Went to NSSHP 3 years ago on Halloween’s night and it wasn’t crowded at all. Walked right on every ride. My son rode some rides over and over w/out ever having to get off.

People like it because kids love it. The problem IMO is the lines are too long for little kids now 4-7 years old or so. They have done a good job of starting to implement things to do in the lines more and money, best example is the Winney the Pooh ride.

Yes there is really no off season at Disney, its busy season and not as busy season.

I’m still fascinated that Disney can charge people to basically stand in line 3/4’s of the day and people keep coming back.

The Halloween Party seems to have "broke" this year. I've seen TONS of complaints that it's too crowded, which was never an issue before this year. That tells me Disney got greedy and upped the number of tickets it sells each night (it is a capped ticket event). That's frustrating.

The number of people was off the chain. I was thinking, does the fire marshall know about this? It was that crowded.

Next year it is back to the beach or hopefully mountains out west. But our family (women) love baking on the sand. "Bangs head"

We've gone to both the Halloween and Christmas parties. The draw for us was the special attractions / characters / fireworks / shows. Riding rides was pretty secondary, and the free snacks was even below that.

I do know that MK during the day, tends to be less crowded on party nights... because everyone knows the park closes early for the party, so they don't want to burn a day on their ticket (if they don't have park hoppers).

You are right about MK on party nights. It is all about planning properly to avoid standing in lines too much.

We did NSSHP on a tuesday night. The character lines were massive (like 2 hours for pooh and friends) And there were a ton a people (which i was expecting from reading Disney message boards) but as long as you plan well its not terrible.

My wife and i took my 1.5 yea and 4 year old for a week. MK was great each time. Essentially spent 2.5 days there. HS was the rough one for me. Super hot the day we were day Toy Story land offers no shade and everything was super packed. We got there at 5:20 AM. Only stayed till like 10-11 AM.

All in all the trip is exhausting. Absolutely beat at the end of it. And we all caught a stomach bug that we brought home on the final day.

But we are already planning a trip for next year. My boys LOVE it. Nothing like watching the pure magical joy that comes from the faces of them while there.

Yeah but Disney is not the gulf coast beaches. Fall break is really only Tennessee, kentucky, Atlanta, and Indiana. With some elsewhere. Disney is country wide almost. So sure there is way more people from those states there but that's a pretty small percentage of their draw.

I was there the second week of October and I was pleasantly surprised at the crowds. Busy but never shoulder to shoulder like it was last time I was there in Feb 2018.

ETA: My issue with Disney is its gotten to the point where you either don't plan at all or the planning is absurdly detailed. To the point where you only have 30 min windows to do stuff or your day is messed up. To the point where you have to consider going to a park that's "NOT" magic hours to counter the magic hour crowd. To the point where we had an 11 year old and a couple kids under 6 and it was hard to see each other because planning the two age groups was very difficult.

I think many of us try to over due it. Its gotten to the point where I don't enjoy short trips there anymore. Its too much money and too exhausting to just do a weekend trip. I think 5-7 days where you take entire mornings or afternoons off to relax at the pool is best.

Let me also say, the character lines are absurd. Disney sucks at it, completely terrible. There's absolutely no reason why you should wait 30 minutes to get a picture with a character at Disney. Not to mention I've waited well over 45 mins I don't even know I don't keep track. But I've been in line for multiple water breaks. Its one person dressed in a costume. It would cost Disney nothing to double the amount of characters they had out.

I have yet to experience anything in life as lame as groups of adults having conversations with characters like they are the real thing.
