I’ve been behind the 8-ball on this one baws. Definitely worth it. Would love to hear about others with different lounge access and get your feedback on them.

Amex lounges are a significant step above the typical Delta, United, and American lounges, though not their elite lounges such as United Polaris or American Flagship First.

The food at Amex lounges is genuinely tasty, not little finger sandwiches and snack mix you might find elsewhere.

Chase and Capital One are also starting to build out airport lounges, but they only have a few locations so far (but I've read that the Capital One lounge at DFW is really nice).

I've spent a lot of time in the Centturion lounge in DFW recently. Centurion is AMEX. It has been very crowded. Last week I was put on a waiting list to get in. It isn't great but better than sitting in the terminal.

I have the Amex blue everyday and the cash magnet. Do either of those grant lounge access ? I never read through all the perks like I should.

Nvmnd: google is my friend.

Beginning next year Amex is taking steps to curb the crowds in the Centurian lounges. No more people bringing in entire families or guests. . No more arriving in the lounge more than two hours before your flights unless you’re connecting. It’s getting more restrictive and that’s a good thing.

The delta club lounges are way way better than they used to be. Sitting outdoors is awesome and makes traveling so much better.

Not an Amex baller yet hope to be soon (only have the Delta Plat Amex which doesn't get you in)

Been to amex lounge in DFW, CLT, and SEA. out of those, DFW is the one that put me on a waitlist even with you getting the “check in “ code on your app. Was a little frustrating. They’re all nice, food is good, staff is great about keeping everything clean and restocked. Heard ATL is getting one this upcoming year which is nice since that’s a frequent connecting spot for me.

The past few Amex lounges I went to were extremely crowded.

Yeah, starting next year, you'll only be able to bring a guest into a Centurion lounge if you spend $70,000 per year on your Platinum card.

Is it only one guest or will you be allowed to bring two guests with the $70K spend?

We have used the Centurion lounges quite a bit this year and they have all been crowded. We had a connection into Dallas at the beginning of this month and landed around 7. Our departing flight wasn't until 10:30 and the lounge was already closed for the evening. On a Saturday! I was pretty upset. I'm not sure if it was a staffing issue or if it is normal, but you would think they would stay open later than 6:30/7.

Alternative is to add family members as an authorized user for $175. They get lounge access. You'll have to decide if that's valuable to you or not.

If you have the Amex Plat (which I assume you do if you got in the lounge), you have a Priority Pass membership that will add access to many more lounges worldwide. Go on the Benefits page on your account to sign up, it's free for you and 2 guests.

Centurion lounges are the best, but honestly are too crowded to be reliable most of the time in my experience. The benefits of a lounge are gone when I'm in line for 45 minutes. As mentioned above they're limiting guests soon, but that also limits access for those of us who don't travel alone for business. Centurion Lounges aren't worth the $175/year to add a spouse to me, when PP lounges/restaurants are satisfactory in most places, especially airports big enough to have a Centurion lounge.

Amex lounge at IAH needs some serious attention. Way too small and has been noticeably overcrowded since Covid reopening.

Best lounge I’ve been in is United Polaris at IAH and EWR.

I have been to all but about 10 domestic Delta SlyCkubs. The experience is dependent upon how new they are in my opinion and the competitive landscape. For example, the new LAX SkyClub with the sky deck is fantastic. However the one in Philly is a dump. My biggest complaint is the lack of variety in food from a day to day / week to week experience.

From an AMEX perspective, the small escape lounges have proven to be nice. I have done ones in Reno and Providence RI. It is a nice break. I have been to two Centurion lounges and have been most impressed with their drink selections.

I have not been to any of the United clubs but the one AA lounge I went to in PIT (likely an old USAir lounge) was under whelming.

No matter what, in my mind lounges are great value for high volume travelers.
