re: Air France: MSY-Paris in December for two round trips

Apparently the flights are timed to coincide with a hematology convention in NO, and has been planned since June. Must be quite a convention to schedule one-off flights, but perhaps airlines are more nimble these days and have spare aircraft to serve almost like charters.
Must be piggybacking off check-in and other ground services from other airlines.
NOLA
Article also notes direct service from NOLA to Montreal, on Air Transat.

The airline picked up on increased demand for flights between Paris and New Orleans in relation to a hematology convention being held in the city, airport spokesperson Erin Burns said. Air France currently has no plans for additional direct flights to Paris, but Burns says there is a "possibility that it could become a permanent service" depending on demand.

Teedy couldn’t even get us direct service from New Orleans to Old Orleans. Pathetic

It would be nice to have anther airport to go through. Heathrow is the only airport flying to NOLA. Though you almost always have to go from terminal 3 to 5 which takes FOREVER. The line for the bus, then the line for security Then the second line for security Then you exit into a damn mall and have to find your gate. Heathrow security sucks. Then be prepared for your gate to be a 15 minute bus ride to a stair entry.
Condor to Frankfurt needs to come back.

I’ve had very good experience in the past, but just got done flying Air France in November and the service was terrible both trips. I had trash both times upon landing I’d had for over an hour and their drink service was terrible both ways, only 3 rounds of drinks 2 at dinner one at the other meal. I’d have been happy to pay for more it was so poor. It was the exact same both directions.
I’m not sure if it was a Covid protocol or budget cuts or what.

That would be great. So much easier to get to other EU countries from CDG than Heathrow.

Was this in economy or business? Sounds pretty standard for TATL in economy but I'd be pissed if that happened in business.
My last AF flight the flight attendants just left me with the bottle of champagne so they could go and relax for a few hours.

Definitely not Business. Doesn't matter though, I'm not going to go on and on but it was the worst service I've ever had domestic or international. Like I said, I've had great service in the past from them.
8 hour flight and only 3 rounds of drinks and 1 round for water is inexcusable. That's a drink every 2 hours. Trash service was bad also, I had trash from my daughters lunch as she was asleep when they first picked it up, for over 2 hours. I was watching a movie and tired of holding onto it.
The attendants simply disappeared. I understand breaks but every 15 mins its not hard to have someone walk up and down with either water or trash. Again I'd say it was a fluke, but it was the exact same both directions.

Heading eastbound, most people are sleeping for a good chunk of the flight so I wouldn't expect any service. You could go back into the galley and ask but they aren't actively making rounds. Coming back, heading westbound during the day I can see you may expect to see them more but a drink every two hours is exactly what you would get flying domestically.
FA's don't constantly patrol the aisles hawking food and drinks the entire flight

Its not my first rodeo, I never expected anyone hawking me. But no one for 2 hours is not acceptable.
I disagree about walking the aisle when everyone is sleeping anyway. I've had 4 or even 5 rounds of drinks at meal service before.
Its very normal to have an attendant casually walking up and down the aisle either with a bottle of water and cups or with a bag of trash to pick up very routinely. They literally disappeared. Then close to landing, as said, very poor service to prepare for landing.
I'm far from high maintenance, but no trash pick up and no water service hourly is not acceptable.

Maybe in Emirates First. Not in economy

Flew AF in April. Was able to upgrade to business for $290 from economy on the flight back. Just got lucky. Great experience.

That's a hell of a find!
Flew AF's old 777 business back in May. Get to try out the new 777 business class seats in June, can't wait!

I had poor drink service on BA last flight. I had a seat which included unlimited drinks. They had these WT people not far from me getting two bottles at a time. When they did the second meal service I asked for a jack and coke and was denied. Then I asked for just a coke. The steward said he only had tea or juice. But I can see the other aisle the stewardess has soft drinks. I pointed it out and the guy said "I have tea".
I got up and got my 150ml of coke(like 1/3 of a standard can).
Maybe I'll try Lufthansa and maybe get on a 747.

That's why there's a call button you can press.

I’ve never had to use a call button on international flights for water or trash. Again I wasn’t talking about beer or wine, and I’ve flown economy plenty and been offered more rounds then I needed many times.
A stewardess not even walking up and down with either water or trash for over an hour not to mention 2 hours is very poor and lazy service.
