Which places would you choose based purely on natural scenery?

Utah vs. Arizona
Maui vs. Kauai
Alberta vs. Colorado
Montana vs. Wyoming
Yosemite vs. Yellowstone
Tennessee vs. North Carolina
Oregon vs. Washington

Yosemite v Yellowstone is the hardest one on that list.

Maui to me has more to do than Kauai, but just for natural scenery, Kauai wins I think (although Maui has a lot of gorgeous sights)

Haven't done NC yet, on my short list for the next 3 years. Is it comparable to Tenn, or a lot better?

Before it's asked, just one of those weird things where I just haven't happened to vacation there yet. I've been to every other state in that area except for NC & KY

NC has mountains, beach, marsh, and the outer banks, so just based on that it has more natural variety than TN.

As someone who lives in Tenn, I would put NC's mountains over Tenn's. East Tennessee is best Tennessee and NC has us on that one. Then NC has ocean shoreline in it's arsenal, it's just no contest for travel.

Where to live on the other hand, Tennessee and it's not close.

Kauai's Na Pali Coast is hard to beat for island scenery.

As is the road to Hana on Maui. Still, I'd take Kauai overall because there's more unspoiled beauty there.

Oregon vs. Washington

This is probably the toughest choice. I would call it a draw.

Seattle > Portland
OR secondary cities > WA secondary cities
Mount Ranier > Mount Hood
OR coast > WA coast
Cascade Parkway > Columbia River Gorge
Eastern OR > Eastern WA
WA hiking > OR hiking
OR other outdoor activities > WA other outdoor activities

The North Cascades and Olympics put Washington over the top IMO.

Utah vs. Arizona - More National Parks and some mountains
Maui vs. Kauai - Haven't done road to Hana
Alberta vs. Colorado - Just love Colorado and RMNP
Montana vs. Wyoming - Glacier is a bucket list
Yosemite vs. Yellowstone - Been to both, Yosemite has better hiking
Tennessee vs. North Carolina - Because TN includes Memphis and Nashville
Oregon vs. Washington - Never been to Oregon and need to check it off
