Not a chance with the ridging this month.

We're about to swing into a wet and a cold period starting this weekend. Maybe next week will give them enough to open.

Might be in this general pattern for a couple of weeks with snow up high and disturbed weather. Probably breaks warm again mid-Nov toward Thanksgiving.

Probably another year hoping to get the motherlode before Christmas.

Surefoot - has anyone splurged? If so, was it worth it?

I've tried every footbed/insole on the market and none seem to provide comfort after the second straight day of skiing.

In the past it didn't make sense to shell out the money for them as I was only getting about 5 days a year, but now that the kids are older and love it, it's becoming more like 15-20 and possibly more.

Last season I did two days at park city and one at snowbird/Alta. I really enjoyed the snowbird/alta day, super easy to switch back and forth between the mountains. Alta also has the benefits of no snowboards and lots of groomers plus it's on the SLC side of the mountains. If you do Park City you need to drive over and down

Eta: Also depends on your ski pass. Park city- Epic
Alta/snowbird- Ikon

Alta is the best place to ski in Utah on a weekend, they do require parking reservations though unless you take the ski bus. It seemed like that helped to mitigate the crowds a bit when I was there.

I am guessing Alta moving up to a more expensive tier on Ikon is probably going to help with the crowds as well.

Looks like Big Sky and the Cottonwoods were the big winners in the first storm of the season. Hopefully the snow machine keeps cranking.

Steamboat, Aspen and Copper also with 8-10 inches. Looks like a few weaker shots of snow this week but with cold temps should be prime snowmaking time. A-Basin probably won't be the only resort open for long.

Alta opened this weekend I think too.

And yeah, this cold snap is going to get the snowmaking rolling. Loveland cant be long from opening. Wolf Creek should too.

Most of the rest of the mnts will be a few weeks. Copper is a hard 11/14, for example.

Im in Logan, UT right now and we got a decent amount on the peaks around here. Will probably take a drive out to Beaver Mnt this afternoon to peek at conditions.

All these years following your Hurricane posts I never did look at your profile location. I just always assumed you were in the south.

Keystone opens tomorrow and Winter Park on Halloween...the pattern looks to remain active as well. The Sierra's might be finally seeing some decent snow.
