It was closed in 3 places earlier all at once

I’ll head out tomorrow night to try to let the rif raf settle down.

I just spent 3 weeks in Japan for their worst season on record to that point. I come back and we get more snow in one storm than the entire time I was in Japan and I may not be able to make it to a mountain due to closures. Stoke is at an all time low

In South Lake Tahoe skiing Heavenly. Today was day six with four more to go.
The whole mountain is open, but terrain is full of obstacles due to no new snow in awhile.
It’s still fun as hell though.

May rent a car and get a day on Kirkwood.

Any guesses as to how long I-70W may be closed? The CO DOT fb page is saying there are no estimates for reopening

It is for avalanche mitigation so probably just a few hours. With how warm it got last weekend then this much snow in a short period....I wouldn't be surprised to see an avalanche in bounds this weekend.

20 inches of new snow yesterday afternoon and last night. Wow. Whatever forecast I was looking at was definitely wrong.

Wow. Yesterday was deep, but today at Jackson is gonna be insane. Came into plow at the shop this morning and we had about 10-14" of snow in the valley. They reported 18" in the last 24 hours and 10 overnight. I bet theres been 3+" inches since the report.

Deep. Knee to mid-thigh in several spots. We were close to first chair in line when they started loading. My legs are toast.

Took me 6 hrs to get to the Boat. Had to go up through Fort Collins to Laramie to Walden then over Rabbit Ears. I’m here til Monday, supposed to get another foot Sunday. Free refills!

Here’s the line for the gondola to Mid Vail Friday morn

Anyone headed up this morning? The map already looks really bad. I’m going to give it a little while to see if it clears out.

Left Silverthorne at 9am this morning to come home. Easy cruise home, not so much for those going up today. It was a parking lot almost the whole way up starting at about evergreen to the tunnel. Easily a 6/7 hr drive up to Summit County.

Head up later this afternoon or evening and ski tomorrow. Another system coming in tonight and there’s a ton of untouched powder at Breck and probably Vail in areas they couldn’t open for wind and avy mitigation reasons. Breck’s upper half probably won’t even open til tomorrow. The lower half is all skied out by now.

I watched the traffic on google until about noon and it never opened up. I dislike traffic on the way down but hate it on the way up.

I’m going to try first thing in the morning. The totals for tomorrow keep coming down so they should be able to keep up.

You could probably leave tonight at about 9pm and zoom up there. That’s usually what I do
