Just starting to look for a trip for our 10 year in July 2025. Even while having to sort through troll posts I’ve gotten a ton of good info from fellow posters on TD over the years. Where are some of the best places to stay? Has to be tropical. I’m not an OT Baller but budget is $10-15k.
ETA: I like the idea of something secluded but will probably do something all-inclusive to make things easier.

Are you looking for a resort with bars/restaurants/etc or something secluded?
If you want the upscale all inclusive route look at Sandals and Excellence resorts
If you want something secluded I'd play around on airbnb in the BVI

With that budget, I would suggest Gary, IN.

Lay on beach in luxury or adventure and locals?
Want perfect or something that ingrained with the countries culture? Or some sort of blend of this?

Probably a mixture of both but definitely lay on the beach in luxury.

Seriously though if you are not planning out of the country, you can't beat Southern California.
San Diego proper
La Jolla (Windansea Beach)
Pacific/Mission Beaches
Los Angeles (Malibu, Santa Monica, Manhattan/Redondo Beaches)
Santa Barbara wine country (Solvang)
Rent a car and start in San Diego and make your way north.

Sandals Grande Resort in St. Lucia. Awesome place
If you had a 2-3 other couples that would be up for it, I would look into British Virgin Island Yacht Charters and doing some Island hopping. I have not done this but we know several who have and they all raved about it.

If you want a nice blend of adventure and luxury, I would look at Belize. Do a few nights at Copal Tree Lodge in the south. Will give you the rain forest, monkeys, and the best food and drink you can find. They grow their own food, make their own rum and chocolate. Then quick little single engine ride to do a few days on Coco Plum island resort which will give you a seclude small island "resort" while being waiting on hand and foot. Plenty of adventures they will take you to comes with the stay if you wish.

Costa Rica or Dominican Republic. Lots of options to choose from in both locales.

Been recommending Casa Velas in Puerta Vallarta and will continue to do so. Amazing property and adults only.

I can recommend Excellence Riviera as well. Wife and I go every year and love the place. If you go from Saturday to Saturday there is a direct flight from NOLA that takes a little over an hour. It is quicker to get there than Destin and is actually cheaper(outside of flights) than Gulf Shores and panhandle.

tulum
They just built a new airport. You can fly right in and be at your resort in 20 minutes.
