Seeing the youtube warnings on ad blockers again. The other thread on this had some good advice. I think they're just going to push people to Rumble.

Imagine people wanted to get paid for making content.

I can't stand youtube with any ads. Thankfully my uBlock extension is still working to block them.

I'm not sure if the stuff I watch is even monetized. I understand youtube still needs to make money. Still can't stand the ads.

I have YouTube premium which is bundled with my YouTube music account. Worth the money to never hear or see ads since I use YouTube so much.

I’ve had YouTube premium since 2016. I cannot fathom how people use Youtube with ads. It’s unusable.

I’m well aware of alternatives but the people making content aren’t doing so free. I have no problem contributing something that cost the same as a chick fil a combo per month to people who have provided hours and hours of entertainment for me. It’s a fraction of the cost of traditional TV and if you take out sports I watch 100 hours of YouTube before I watch a single hour of television content.

Change web browsers.

Stop using Chrome.

Also, the Brave web browser can block youtube ads even on mobile devices. You can even continue playing audio of a youtube video after you've put your phone's screen to sleep.

Sponsorblock works well, along with UBlock Origin.

I almost exclusively watch youtube now. Premium is a must and i have no issue paying it. Even in my truck i stream youtube videos for music. The ai does a great job of generating playlists based off of what you like.

Adblock Plus and Auto Skip YouTube ads on Microsoft Edge started working again since the last update. If you don't have those and are watching on a PC, right-click on the warning popup and click refresh, it will go away for several vids, then just wash and repeat.

Same. As much as I watch YouTube I feel like I get my money's worth especially with YouTube music included. I also like being able to download videos in advance to watch when I'm in places with no internet.

Yeah when Amazon Prime music went to shite I needed another service and I got the YTP/M combo for a year free by changing my Fi plan. I'm going to keep it. I use these more than any other streaming service I pay for, and it's not close.

Upon your mention, I installed uBlock extension yesterday and it worked. Alas, today, it doesn't.

What now, brown cow?

ublock will still work. you need to zap an ad as soon as it starts. or click the eye droppers and touch the add and then click create.

refresh and then see if either works. someone else may be better to explain, but ublock will definitely work.

Guys no one expects content for free. People do care about having 10 ads in a 10 minute video.

Start a video, 2 ads. Fast forward, 2 ads. Back up a bit, 2 ads.

Youtube was so much better back in the day. I can't wait for better competition. It's coming. YouTube is greedy these days.

I started getting warnings while using Brave just last week, and had to turn the "Shields" off to watch. Of course that brought on the damned ads and made YouTube unwatchable. I noticed where you turn the Shields on and off that there was a "Report Site" button, so I clicked that and reported YouTube. Then I switched over to Rumble. Now this might just be a total coincidence but within an hour of reporting YouTube to Brave an update for Brave comes down. I use Brave on Linux so I get update notifications for individual apps and software right on my desktop. Similar to how Windows XP used to notify you. Anyway, I installed the update, but did not go back to YouTube that day. The next morning there was another Brave Browser update. I installed that one then went to YouTube, turned the Shields back on and low and behold no more ads with YouTube videos. Moral of the story, if the extension, or app, has a site report feature, use it.
