Would Biden win affect Tech prices?

If Biden’s victory holds up, will tech prices be affected as China becomes major player again without tariffs?
Voted for Trump and hope he prevails, however, looking for silver lining. Should I hold off tech purchases for several months? Like 85-inch TVs, receivers and Blu-ray players.

I don't think the president has enough impact on supply and demand to be noticeable in tech.

Blu-ray players.

Chinese chips, IP, and manufacturing will continue to be a huge security concern. I would hope his advisors will temper his pro-China tendencies.

I think it's a reasonable expectation that Biden will remove the tariffs on Chinese products. He can do this without congress. That legitimately would likely lead to a slight price decrease in some electronics such as computer power supplies and graphics cards. Maybe SSDs and memory as well.

There is a lot more that goes into price theory than input cost. If you are looking to purchase inputs like chips, boards, etc then sure you probably see a decrease in price for those things. As far a finished products go, like TVs, I doubt you see an noticable decrease in price due to more lax regulations outside of usual sales, i.e. black friday, and the usual rate prices are decreasing overtime for those items.

I’m sorry, his advisors are as corrupt as he is. China about to walk all over us. Silk Road about about to go into high gear

The tech price may go down a few cents, but the drive to Walmart will be more expensive when your gas goes from $2 to $3/gallon.

Most liberals I know agreed with Trump's approach on china. It was pretty much the only thing they agreed with trump on. It's possible Biden continues to pressure china.

The one thing about tech prices is really going to be the ability to manufacture the electronics. I do not think it will be tariffs or other artificial increases in price, but the ability to get the raw materials necessary to produce the quantities necessary. Reading about many of the new chips in development and semiconductor manufacturing is pretty interesting. With the worldwide adoption of work from home (that isn’t going away), there will be an ever increasing demand for new products, and the older manufacturing plants will not be able to manufacture the new breed of 3D semiconductores. I am curious to see how this develops over the next five years or so.
My personal interest in this manufacturing is in the worldwide supply and demand of helium, which is essential in the manufacturing process.

If by making a killing you mean having to raise prices to survive, sure.

Helium is required in the manufacturing of semiconductors: there has been a helium shortage for the past few years and prices have skyrocketed. New sources coming online and recycling efforts have helped reduce prices, but the helium industry is focusing on semiconductor manufacturing as the next growth engine for demand.

please walk me through how exactly you think that's gonna happen. Tell me how operations/compliance cost are going to be so high that we'll have a low oil price environnement AND high gas prices at the pump.
There will no longer be a low oil price environment once fracking is banned. Cheap shale oil created our energy independence, we no longer requiref middle eastern oil forcing OPEC to lower price due to lack of demand. Without fracking/ shale oil we will quickly be back to $100 a barrel oil. You can also look forward to rising utility bills. Before fracking made shale gas possible, natural gas prices had reached $13 per mm cubic feet, today it is about 3 bucks. Most of our electricity is generated from natural gas, once cheap natural gas is gone guess what happens to your electric bill. My winter heating bill is half what it was in 2008 all because of cheap gas which Biden plans to kill. Voting for higher taxes and energy prices, I’ll never get it.

This what the Democrats want. Why? Well, as of right now solar/wind/etc cannot compete with natural gas an an energy source. Remove the cheap access to hydrocarbons and those other sources can then compete for consumer dollars. Electric bills will be so high, that we will all want to install solar panels to generate our own electricity.

As with a lot of things, the cheap ones are cheap and the really good ones will run a grand or more is Panasonic 9000 and OPPO 205.

If you want to base your investment decisions on Biden, then look up which stocks had the strongest performance in Obama's second term.
