A VPN, or Virtual Private Network, routes all of your internet activity through a secure, encrypted connection, which prevents others from seeing what you're doing online and from where you're doing it. Basically, a VPN provides an extra layer of security and privacy for all of your online activities.

This is the gist of it.

This seems like maybe letting the fox in the henhouse, but I've been using the Google One native VPN since they offered it early this year. It's just so damned easy.

.

That's a VPN sales pitch. It doesn't prevent others from seeing what you're doing online. It just changes who can see what you're doing online.

Are you kidding? Even Google Fiber tracks your traffic without an additional fee. Google VPN is damn near a contradiction in terms.

I use VPN unlimited (it turns on automatically on untrusted networks, like LTE/5G). I'm going to trust VPNs based in Eastern Europe or Switzerland over anything else.

I use ProtonVPN. It's free and gets the job done as far as I can tell.

Same, but I pay for proton mail, VPN, and storage.

VPNs arent the end-all be-all but definitely use one if you're on free public WiFi.

I’ve tried Nord, Surfshark, Proton and CyberGhost. CyberGhost is the fastest based on my testing on my network.

This, particularly if you value privacy enough to pay anonymously through bitcoin or cash.
