I turned off all push notifications that I know of, keep force shutting off everything I can think of, and yet, if I so much as use google maps for a 15 drive, I'll burn up 10 percent.

Should I just accept this until I'm up for a new phone?

I had the same issue with my s5 and s3 (although is it wasn't as bad here).

Same my s7 edge battery is terrible. I run the battery saver and it is better but performance takes a hit.

S8+ battery has been exceptional.

It's a shame because the phone itself does everything I ask it to. The other flagships are what, the g6 and now keyone?

I'm purposefully excluding Apple

This has been the case with my last phones, but it'll only last a few weeks or a couple months at most. I think the Galaxy phones have broken me

My Note 5 turned into an unusable piece of shite for like 4 months and then an update made the battery last as long as it did the first week I got it.

I'm convinced Samsung does this to increase sales

Small hijack....

My S7 Edge has been running extremely slow. Could this be because my memory is almost full?

Same. And now you can't have a backup battery to put in when yours dies.

No. That's not how Android memory works.

Google Maps burns a bunch on mine too, and my Audible app too. That's why I have a charger in the car.

Normally I get a full day with my S7 with no problem.

Go through each app, turn off all locations and notifications. Turn off vibrate functions as well. Also turn off all data collection crap.

Some apps constantly ping your location. Walmart is bad about that. My newspaper and NBC station are pretty bad as well.

It amazes me people still return to Samsung after years of shite phones.

Never again. I haven't been back since my S3 was total garbage.

i don't have that problem with a really old S5 that I'm still using. Do you have a terrible cell signal in your area?

What is your recommendation for a non-Samsung (and non-Apple) phone? My G6 will soon be paid off and I might be looking to upgrade in the near future.

I would own HTC, OnePlus, or Huawei before I would ever own Samsung.

I have never owned Apple so I can't comment on those.

Apple makes the best phones. I tried to like several others, but simply could not. Samsung looked pretty, but it sucked. Moto G was legit for the price.

Currently have an S7 but just recently pre-ordered the HTC U11. I have always been a fan of HTC but have not liked any of their phones since the M7 until now. Will let you guys know my thoughts once I receive it.

I've had my OnePlus 3 since November and I haven't had any issues. Battery has been great, it doesn't cut off for no reason like every Samsung I've owned, it doesn't drop calls. It's fast.

The HTC 10 was considered at the time to be one of the best phones on the market so I'm sure the HTC 11 will be a good choice.
