quote:If the attic is too hard to do, then you should knoww that an antenna used for local OTA broadcast television can be installed up to 12' ABOVE the top roof line of a residence, per federal law? If you live in an HOA that has rules saying you can't, just refer them to the FCC Telecommunications Act of 1997 and let them know that the HOA's CC&Rs are not in compliance with federal law. They can't tell you where to install it, or limited you to less that 12' if you decide you want to go the full 12' above the roof.
It's not so much where you live it's what you live around.
I couldn't get all the channels with the Mohu behind the tv in the living room, which was pretty much the center of the house, but catch them all in the window which faces west and has few trees in the way.
Trees and house materials make a big difference.
The antenna i have in the attic catches all channels perfect all the time. When i had it in the living room behind the tv, CBS and ABC would sometimes not work.
It's really not that hard to drop some wires from the attic, especially if you already have some dropped. I put an antenna in the attic b/c i wanted to drop ethernet lines, so if i was already going to do that, then i might as well drop the antenna cable too. My directv install guy gave me a extra wireless reciever b/c he didn't want to drop the line in the living room with my vaulted cielings and clutter of air duct work where the drop would be, but i did it.
if you do it, you better do it soon b/c you're going to die in your attic if you wait until summertime.

Some channels don't allow pause or rewind feature

Also there are 3 categories of cloud content that I think have their own rules. I noticed content marked as " catch up", "on demand", and " DVR". So far I've been able to FF/RW all content marked as DVR.
FYI, still having frequent screwups with CNBC cloud content. Wife said she had a few hiccups with live Disney Jr today also.

Called to negotiate my dish network bill thanks to PS vue. They didn't even offer me a lower price just asked when I wanted to cancel.
That being said pretty pleased with Vue on the PS4. Buttery smooth and managing favorite shows is easy. Only complaint is the guide takes some getting used to, and seems busy

Just bought a new house. Called Direct TV to set up the move, they tell me they can't because the previous owner hasn't cancelled or moved their Direct TV. This seems patently absurd. I asked the lady if I can't contact them or if I do and they take 2 months to fix it, then I just gotta wait or never get my Direct TV back, and she basically said that was correct.
Good news is she said if I can't contact the previous owner, I can cancel my Direct TV with no cancellation fee, so this could allow me a free out to try Vue sooner than i had planned.
Mulling it over as the only thing stopping me is i have Uverse internet which I'd have to cancel to and find a new internet provider.

The guide has already grown on me. First, there IS a guide...
Which is something you can't really find with other cord cutting services...
I really like the ability to go back in time, and launch content from the guide. Pretty cool feature.

I like the guide. Sure, it's different but I like how it shows where the show is in relation to the time with the red line. I also like the ability to start over if needed.

Did I read correctly that with VUE you only get 2ch sound...no DD 5.1?

Been using Vue for a week now. I had some issues last week, but it's been pretty solid the past few days. I had been using Sling, but canceled it in lieu of Vue for now. With no subscriptions, it's easy enough to move back to Sling if Vue doesn't work out.
I'd be interested in know how that remote works out.

You can try out your regular remote for your HDTV. Mine worked but it was a Vizio. For $25 I said screw it and just wanted to get the PS4 Remote for the functionality and being that it's actually native to the program

Been checking everyday hoping to see a Vue app released on Roku.
I really want to switch but just bought two Rokus a couple months ago. Don't want to fork out more money for a Fire TV.

Anyone having trouble with buffering and skipping today?

Yeah, my Samsung remote works ok, but I prefer the PS4 controller. I don't mind the controller too much, but my wife isn't as comfortable with it. If I were to get the PS4 controller, it'd really be for her. I'd be curious if you saw any major improvement using the PS4 remote over the TV remote.

I have the remote set up now. The set up was painless and it allows you to teach it command buttons from your HDTV remote (Netflix button, for example).
Just gliding through the main Playstation menu is tons better. Haven't signed up for vue yet but I'm about to
I'll sign up for Vue tomorrow when I get home and let everyone know what I think

Can you or someone else with Vue see if you can get into the Fox Sports Go app with it? The Pelicans play the Pacers tonight so that should show up in the Fox Sports Go app if Vue is going to let you see Pelicans games. TIA

I'll do that in a little bit for you, bruh
LINK
The spreadsheet says Fox Sports GO works with it, but I'll double check for you
