I’m sure this has been discussed but between the Google Pixel and Samsung’s Galaxy which is a better phone? My contract is up and I’m just looking.

Honestly, I'd go to a store that you can see and hold both. They're both made from good components and the Android OS has come a long way over the years.

The Samsung hardware is objectively "better" but Pixel software is pretty nice out of the box.

I'd look at which one you can get the best deal on that gives you the best screen for your money. Try swiping around on it to see if you like the way it responds and the refresh rate seems smooth.

A big distinction is going to be what you use your phone for.

Google's new Tensor chips lag behind other chips in terms of raw performance, but are way ahead in terms of AI (their focus).

I really don't like that you can't organize the app drawer into folders on Pixel

I prefer the Galaxys these days. I used to prefer the pixels. Samsung has really done a great job with their software.

Is the move from a pixel to Galaxy pretty easy?

Just recognize that Samsun phones have more software/bloatware pre-installed like games, etc.

I like my s24+ or whatever it is, but I hate the samsung apps that are literally the same thing as the google apps.

Im going pixel next time i get a phone.

That so called lower performance only matters if you are doing some pretty intense gaming . I've never had an issue with a pixel running slow on anything but I don't game.

The nice thing about Pixels is you get updates and features before everyone else does.

I'm still on the Pixel 8 Pro and don't have any performance issues

I will probably wait at least another cycle before I upgrade

Yep, but it doesn't matter much anymore.

I went from S22 Ultra to Pixel 10 Pro XL. I'm going back to Samsung next time. It takes 10 seconds to switch to speaker during a phone call. Switching between phone calls is buggy AF. Samsung default apps are better, especially the alarm. Build quality is not even close. I used the s-pen a lot.

The pixel finger print scanner is better than the 22 Ultra, but that's 3 year old tech. I like the mag safe.

Never had those issues.

Pixels now have MagSafe. Called Pixelsnap.

Google Gemini:

The Pixel 10's speakerphone lag is a known bug in the Google Phone app that Google has not planned to fix. To work around this, try using the speakerphone toggle in the notification panel instead of the one in the dialer, or temporarily try an older version of the Google Phone app if you are comfortable with sideloading.

My 10 pro switches instantly. But then again, I think I have used speaker phone like 3 times in my entire life.
