Outdoor wall mount TV - Updated Question about VESA

We built a new house, have a covered deck (ceiling, not walls) and have a fireplace with internet/cable over the fireplace.
Am now ready to get a TV to hang there to watch. My plan is basically to purchase a fairly inexpensive "non outdoor made) TV and hang it, and cover it when not in use. If it lasts 3-4 years great, I won't feel like I wasted my money.
The weather should not get to the physical location where it will hang and it will be covered when not in use. Do you take yours down in the winter or just cover it?
Thoughts? Any particular brand or mount I should think about?

My neighbor has one mounted on the wall under the eave of his house. Stays there year round with an old towel over it when not in use. Been going for about 3 years so far.

If you’re gonna stream everything, get a TCL 6
Also, thecoverstore.com makes a good cover pretty cheap.

What are good mounting options to put on a brick wall? Most TV mounts advise against it on their paperwork. I want to put a TV in my patio area. Time to sit outside, drink a little, and relax with some football.

Want to know this too. I wouldn’t trust myself to mount it either, so who would install it? I think im going to buy a rolling tv stand instead… small footprint…will still be able to go against the wall but can move it if wanted

The ones on my fireplace are just masonry screws. I don't have brick, but decorative block, and it seems to work just fine.

I bought my TV's and mounts from Best Buy and they came and installed them for $50 each. I thought that was decent since I really didn't have help to mount them myself except my wife, and she can't hold much weight for any length of time.

With the weight of modern TV's these days, I don't see how that's an issue. Maybe if you tried to hang a 25 year old CRT on it the brick would be a problem. But I just looked it up, a 50 inch TCL with Roku built in is only 15 pounds, and the 55 inch 33 pounds. As long as the mount isn't actively falling out of the wall, it's going to hold that light a weight

this.
very very easy. just pick up some blue tapcons (usually they include the drill bit as well or its next to them at home depot)
you will need a hammer-drill however. don't attempt this with a regular drill or you'll never get through the brick.
thats really all you need. super easy and doesn't take any longer than drilling holes in studs.

no you dont. masonary bit will cut through brick like butter with a regular drill or impact drill. same with the grout.
and you are better off using wedge anchors imo than tapcons.

Go to Facebook marketplace. Tons of people buy new TV's and are looking to not throw the older TV in a dumpster. I purchased a 50" Vizio 4K TV for my daughter's apartment at OU. Paid $50. I asked the guy why he was getting rid of it and he explained that he purchased an 84" Samsung and that he didn't want to keep it, but didn't want to throw it away, either. So there you go.

I've had an indoor TV on my porch for 7 years, never covered it. It was an older plasma that I replaced inside. I blow the pollen off with a leaf blower in the spring. I'm in SC, so similar climate.

I bought a 58" JVC with built in Roku from Sams for abut $400 and put it on a brick wall mount ($30 Amazon) under my awning. Most of the mounts these days can fit all sizes of TV's (check VESA measurements for your tv before purchasing). You will need a decent drill and masonry bits to do the drilling.
Just installed this weekend and working great through the rain storms as it is close to the edge of the awning.
I also bought a waterproof cover for a 60" off Amazon for like $25

I bought one of the Best Buy branded 50” 4k tvs they had on sale at the time. Think it was $250. I have an outdoor cover I ordered from Amazon that stays over if when not in use. Zero issues thus far.

VESA specs?
So the TV I bought says it's VESA mount is 200mm x 300mm.
Most of the mounts I have found online do not have that spec, they have 200mm x 200mm, or 300mm x 200mm or 300mm x 300mm or similar.
I found one and bought it, but it doesn't really fit where I want it to go very well.
Am I correct in assuming if the TV says it is 200mm x 300mm, then when I look at the specs of mounts online, that is the configuration I need, and is my only option?

For the most part, just make sure your mount’s maximum VESA size is as big or bigger than what your TV’s VESA size is . Most mounts accommodate various sizes

That image doesn't have my TV spec, mine specifically is 200mm x 300mm.
But with that said, I'm going to add spacers to the mount which will let me make it work in my config, so I think that will solve the issue I was having. The plate that screws to the wall was going to cover my ethernet jack, but I think putting spacers to stand it off from the wall an inch will solve that.
