Looking at either an LG B6E oled or a TCL QM7K or QM8K mini led or something else.........Anyone have any good reasons for one over the other? Trying to stay reasonable on price. Looking at 55" size wise.

TCL QM7L, the K is last year's model and lacks the new SQD panel that is significantly brighter with slightly better colors.

The new modern Mini-LEDs have completely caught up to OLED, there is really no reason anymore to spend 2x to 3x on an OLED.

I'm guessing you two don't agree. That's kind of what I've got on other sites when comparing them. It's mostly people arguing for one or the other. I was hoping to get a unified answer. Lol! Thanks for the help though!

Mini LED are getting so much better. For a bright room probably mini LED. That being said, more OLED TVs coming to market that do well in brighter rooms.

I’d always lean OLED if possible but I’d be willing to bet you’ll be happy no matter what these days.

You could go to Sam’s and buy a tv for 700 bucks and it be significantly better than anything you could buy pre-2020

I think you could spend 500 and it would be better than 2020's. MiniLED is getting close, just can't handle specific scenes the same way, and brought in motion clarity.

check out rtings.com

ETA: well shite. now they make you pay for it. They always have the best comparisons. They do give a summary though:

The TCL QM7L and the LG B6 OLED 2026 are both great TVs, and the best one between the two really depends on your usage. The TCL is the better choice for a bright room, as it's significantly brighter and can overcome more glare from lights or windows, so you don't need to close your blinds to watch shows or sports during the day. The LG, on the other hand, is the better choice for a dark room, as it delivers deeper, more uniform blacks, with no haloing around bright highlights or subtitles.

I'm more curious to add microLED to the comparison.
