How?
well, there are 2 new size phone available.
the Xs is just a spec increase over the X, but the Max and Xr are new models that didn't previously exist.
This is way more than apple just going from the 7 to the 8 or something like that.

no offense, but 512GB? i don't even use 32. Does apple even cloud?
512GB on your phone is the equivalent to a middle class family buying a storage unit to hold all their shite or extra luggage containers to stick on the roof and back hitch of their SUV.

I was hoping to get an X for $800 or so. Ready to move on from my 7.

I’m seeing 1 single difference between X & X(s), the processor.. am I missing anything else?

That's not anything groundbreaking. They stripped down some features and made a "budget" phone for a lower price. Cool, I guess? They've been doing the base model and the model +. Similar concept.
They aren't advancing anything here. There's some health stuff that is getting better with their technology and some AR development, but nothing is pushing the envelope.
It will sell though. I'm not arguing that. I'm more than fine just sticking with my 6s until it dies though. There's nothing I've got to have.

I definitely wouldn't by an Xs if I had the X
But a ton of people will be getting the Max (me included)
I'm coming from an 8+, so it'll be a pretty big change

Got a little fools gold in there bub.
The XS Max is the XS with a bigger screen...so the X with a bigger screen (with spec increase as you noted)
The XR is basically the X with a smaller screen, worse display tech, only a single camer (read worse camera), and rumored to have less RAM.
So while thye might be new models. They are basically more of the same....and even less in the case of the XR.

The Depth of Field slider for pictures you've already taken is bad arse.

It will be interesting to see how the Xr does against the Xs.
Are consumers really gonna feel $250 more of value to take the leap to the Xs? I think the Xr is gonna crush it especially with the lineup of different colors.

I agree. That's going to be interesting to follow. If my 6s dies tomorrow, I'll probably be more inclined to get the R from this lineup.

So, you acknowledge that the Max is the X with a bigger screen, which would make it a new model. That size did not previously exist.
Further, you're wrong about the Xr. It has a bigger screen than the X, not smaller. Yes the internals are lower spec'd- but don't compare it to the Xs. Compare it to the 8+. That's the model and pricepoint it's replacing. When compared to the 8+, it's a significant change.
I'm not sure how anyone can equate these releases to "more of the same". This is different than the previously incremental releases of say the 6 to 6s.

They changed the name of the "Plus" to the "Max". They released an iPhone 7 and a 7 Plus. It is the same concept, only marketed differently.

Is the 8 worth getting at $599? I kinda like having a smaller phone.
Posted on 9/12/18 at 3:44 pm to 1999
Looks nicer than the others. I used to have a 7 for work, now an x. I want the 7 back due to the aluminum back and much slimmer body.
If they made a 7 sized phone with x resolution and specs, i would purchase it immediately

If it was me, I would opt for XR for $150 more. Might want to double check me on this, but it looks like the XR is half an inch taller, a third of an inch wider, .04 inches deeper, and weighs about 1.7 ounces more. You get the better, bigger display and probably an extra year of support when they update their iOS in the future. Just depends on your personal preference and lifestyle though.
