I like the ARLO because the ease of setup but battery life is a concern.
Opinions?

Ring, Nest, POE Cam, and numerous other security cam setups.
I'm a fan of Ring and POE, Ring is easy, POE is a bit more complicated but not bad. POE benefits from not having to pay for cloud storage, but I got that covered by the Ring Alarm now.

I've got two Arlo. I like them but changing the batteries is a bit annoying. You can save the battery a good bit by lowering the video quality and making sure it's not going to be picking up cars constantly.
I believe the newer Pros allow for wired power if that's an option.

I bought an extra battery to charge once I get the low battery message.
There is enough warning to put off changing the battery for a day, possibly 2 - don't remember exactly.
I have 5 cameras in a single story house.

I bought two Arlo Pro 2s for the house; leave them plugged in 24/7, so I can't speak as to the battery issues.
The quality is amazing. Installation and setting up is a breeze. Would definitely recommend.
IMO, Net is great quality, but severely overpriced.

Only reason I would get the Arlon pro 2 over say night owl would be ease of installation. If I run a power cord for the Arlon pro I’ll just go with night owl or Swann because they require running wire

I’ve got the Arlo pro 2 system and HIGHLY recommend it, and that’s coming from someone who used to have a house with a hard wired system.
You won’t regret the Arlo.

Just installed Nest and love it. Don't have any experience with other brands.

I have been a long time Nest user. I originally only had one camera to watch the dog area. A few weeks ago I decided to give Wyze a try. The camera quality was great, but the app absolutely sucked. It would only work when I was at home and on my own Wi-Fi network. That really defeats the point. Also with Wyze, I couldn't connect the upstairs cameras to my Orbi satellite because I assume it was only broadcasting 5ghz even though it should broadcast both. May have been Wyze not able to search past the 5ghz for the 2.4ghz.
I am now back with Nest totally and have four cameras installed inside with plans to get a doorbell and an outdoor camera for the back. I also have the thermostat, so it is nice to have everything in one app. They have reasonably priced 5-day cloud storage now and discounts for additional cameras.
ETA: I bought a 3-pack at Home Depot for $397. Pretty good deal.

Lorex/Flir have great cams, but their HDD can be LOUD and their customer suppose sucks.
But for the quality of video and POE price, they are worth looking at.

I agree on the Arlo pro. The surveillance, notification, the quality of the videos are great. But if you place it in a busy location, battery change is going to be a bit of a hassle. Not to mention their cloud subscription. I hope this can help. If you're so much into arlo but worried about the battery, arlo pro 2 is your next best option, it can be set up wired.

Go with Arlo.
We have four. Three regulars and a Pro 2.
Batteries last forever. By the time you need to recharge you’ve forgotten you would find it annoying.

I have blink and I really like them. Good quality and reasonable price. Free cloud storage.
