re: Outdoor security cameras

Arlo user here as well. It has a mobile app that you can check on your phone, has two way audio as well. I think they're dropping good deals here now that it's the black friday. But you might not like its monthly storage fee. The only problem I have with arlo is the battery. We went from charging every 5months to every 4weeks. We ended up replacing the batteries.
I agree on the Arlo pro. The surveillance, notification, the quality of the videos are great. But if you place it in a busy location, battery change is going to be a bit of a hassle. Not to mention their cloud subscription. I hope this can help. If you're so much into arlo but worried about the battery, arlo pro 2 is your next best option, it can be set up wired.

another edge of Arlo pro 2 is the continuous recording. The arlo pro couldn't do that. It only records when it detects motion. Clearer recording on pro 2 too!

Agree on the sensitivity. It doesn't have to be the Arlo itself that needs to be adjusted. Might find few help here. Mine does the opposite though, I get false notifs every now and then. But I just let it be, I feel that every motion sensed is important, I'm paranoid like that.
can you possibly track down the address where it's supposed to be delivered?

Either of the Arlo pro and Nest should be good. Both of these cameras have amazing 2way communication which i think is necessary in every wifi cams nowadays. Nest got's a way better resolution though - 1080p

I have an ecobee4. It came handy since it's got built in alexa already. if you're planning to start a smarthome, it might be a good idea to check it. It works great with our HVAC. But ecobee 3 is already a decent thermostat, it can also work with alexa, only with a separate purchase.
If you plan to install one outdoors, wireless cams might be something worth checking out. We have a bunch of it and everything's doing good so far. But I noticed that these cameras sometimes fail to work properly when there's an intermittent connection. That seldom happens to us anyway so it's still worth it. You can read more of home security options. Should help you narrow your choices. Wireless cams nowadays are a bit costly too, but there are few that are decent enough.
I used to have a Canary and i must say, the resolution is just great. We liked it then coz it really doesn't look like a camera at first glance, more like a speaker. I also noticed that it takes a couple of seconds to load, maybe because all of its controls are on the app? Idk. I read about a comparison of canary over others. I think it would've been better if it has button controls or something. though, it really is great for its price.
Eufy might work fine too. Before we got ourselves the Roomba, we first had Eufy and I can say the suction is awesome. The only reason why we switched to Roomba is because Eufy can't work with Alexa, other than that. Eufy is good. You can check more info of some vacuums. It would have been really nice if Eufy an work with wifi.

I love Canary cams! They look like speakers at first glance. It's one of our choices when still finding a monitor for my toddlers. But ended up getting a different brand. I read this post that its sensors are a bit too sensitive, though the recordings are immaculately clear, which ofcourse, is more impt.

There's nothing faulty I can find with nest. We have the Nest thermostat. Ours went up and running very smoothly, the installation was quick. But later on we found out it can't work with our apple homekit (since it's owned by google), But overall, got no grudges against Nest.
Rootin' for arlo pro as well, if against the arlo. It has similar features with the previous arlo but the improvements on the pro is something to consider. Speak&hear thru the camera is awesome. It also sends notifications, sometimes there's too much false notifs though. I found this good comparison of the two gadgets. Ours just retired recently though. Im trying to find replacements without monthly fee like the arlos.

We had the arlo. It's great that i get to hear through the cams, it has a motion sensor too but sometimes it gets a little too sensitive that it sends false notifs. You can check few details about it. The resolution is clear too.
I've had this before but with nest. We didn't really need advanced troubleshooting. We just powercycled. it sometimes fixes the bugs. I hope yours gets fixed soonest.

If you already have Alexa, then ecobee 3 might be better. I think it is the only edge Ecobee4 got over the Ecobee3.

Neato is good, especially if you have pets, the suction is just great. However, I feel like there's so much going on with the maintenance :wah:

I agree on smart things!! the back up power is just important. Tho I read that it's got only few networking protocols supported.
cool!!! i have a wink and i'm planning on getting smartthings as wink goes down everytime there's power failure unlike samsung

I think arlo pro is good enough. Most of the wifi cams nowadays have monthly cloud fee, though there are some that doesn't. I just feel like it's batteries aren't so great.

It's good but you might want to check further details about it. I've seen Piper nv which is quite similar with arlo pro. Only it's cheaper. One thing not so nice about this though is the video resolution.
I think the 800 series will do. it can clean as much as the Roomba980/960. The extras on 900s just aren't worth it.
