Logitech Harmony no longer being made

I didn't see this mentioned here. A couple weeks ago Logitech announced they have stopped making Harmony remotes. ;-(
Logitech said they will still honor warranties, offer support, keep the service up and will continue to add devices to the database. Who knows how long this will last. Fwiw, on avsforum it was mentioned that Logitech still supports some product (squeezebox?) that needs an online service and it was discontinued almost 10 years ago.
I've had a Harmony Ultimate for several years now and still works great but the battery sucks. I just ordered a Logitech Harmony Companion for my living room and as a backup if my Ultimate stops working.
BestBuy looks to be the only big retailer left with any stock. If anyone was thinking of getting a Harmony; get it soon before they are all gone.

This sucks. The companion is an excellent remote. Feels perfect in my hand.

I’ve been a Harmony remote fan for 15 years. They are the best and easiest to use. My wife and girls wouldn’t have an idea how to turn anything on without it. I have a hub that is probably 6 or 7 years old. What is going to replace them?

Mine is 11 years old and still going strong

Thanks.
I might get one of these.
I have an LG tv and the smart remote is pretty cool but some dipshit engineer decided that it doesn't need FF or RW buttons so watching anything you want to FF through, you have to go into a special interface.
This looks like a much better solution.

I'm illogically triggered by this announcement. My current hub/companion is fine but it's such a solid piece of simple tech that makes my life so much easier. I'm assuming home automation systems like Alexa have taken it's place but dang...

I am dumb apparently because Harmony is too hard for me and I always hated mine
Hopefully someone will fill this void with something for us simpletons

Name every device you want to control and about how often you use them (ie- tv, receiver, I have a DVD player but don’t use it, etc)
For anyone looking for tech that works very well in lieu of the hub, I have/like finding used global cache units online.
Pro- you get your choice of control app from several
Con- no physical remote to go along with it. You must use a phone/tablet

Man I love my Harmony. Looks like I will have to redo all my shite.
I have activities that turn off the lights, turn on all my Home theater gear, while closing the blinds and stuff like that, and I can trigger them via Alexa.

Hopefully Logitech will keep Harmony running for several years as people are still buying remotes. Also, even if the Harmony service goes down, it would still work with what you have setup. You just couldn't make anymore changes.

I have one somewhere you can use

I was pretty shocked to hear this, I thought Logitech dominated a flourishing remote market. I had no idea it’s been dying for years.

They say it's about streaming services, all-in-one TVs, and cord cutting.
In that case it makes sense: If I go from a TV, with a streaming stick, blu ray player, and cable box to a smart-TV that only needs one remote, then who needs a Harmony?
But for folks like me, I still have an A/V setup with multiple inputs, etc. So yes I'm very sad to see them go. Hopefully mine will work a while. I have the nice one, paired with the hub. Works great. Much easier to deal with than the Google home automation for sure.

Thanks a lot for the info guys. I just bought an Elite from Best Buy. Mine is 5 years old and I love it so wanted a backup plan.

Love my elite combo set. The major issue with this set is the lack of changeable batteries.
Eventually it will die and not work or hold a charge. And there is nothing I can really do about it.
