Is AT&T’s service around the country steadily declining?

I have had zero issues with my cell service until this past year.

My connection is now routinely 1-2 bars and seems to be worsening everywhere.

Is it worthwhile to switch providers to Verizon?

My wife’s AT&T phone is the same.
Has been gradually getting worse. She can’t even run Waze at times without getting “No Service.”

I have Verizon. Works flawlessly. I always have service.. even in Tiger Stadium

That sounds like my situation.

I’ve lost service in areas that most would consider insane.

Good to hear. I may look at switching.

Unless the prices at AT&T are far superior, I’m not switching from Verizon. I have unlimited data also.

I was at Perkins Rowe last week and noticed I had 1 bar and couldn't even load basic web pages. I get how busy areas can be a problem at peak times, but this was 2 in the afternoon on a weekday. How can the signal be so weak at such a popular area of town?

I thought it was just me. Noticing it as well also. Towers are slow also. Almost like they are overloaded with too many people or something.

Did the same for the same reason about 3 months ago. Very happy with Verizon so far.

If Verizon didn't suck so bad in SWLA I'd have moved to them years ago, but they're terrible here. AT&T does seem to be declining in our area as well.

All good in Dallas, Austin, OKC, Tulsa, Portland, San Francisco....all cities I've been in this year.

Service isn't getting worse. At&t is currently undergoing tower upgrades, so some towers can get knocked off-line for up to a few weeks (depending on the site).

At this very moment, At&t is still sweeping across the South and replacing their panels/radios in order to broadcast 4x4 MIMO, Band 14, and future-proof for 5G compatibility. Service interruptions are to be expect during this time.

Well, they are very close to losing my business because service IS getting worse.

Apparently, they are unable to do their repairs while maintaining a basic level of connectivity, which is nuts.

Hell, we recently had to change our alarm system because it functioned via AT&T’s network.

ATT has sucked for years. Nothing new or declining. Verizon is and has always had great service. Badly regret moving to tmobile but unlimited data is nice, when we can get service.

I haven't noticed a decline in AT&T coverage

That said, AT&T is a garbage company and Verizon is better.

Strange, your are not alone. I have noticed this as well and it started right at the beginning of this year. I just thought they were throttling me to all hell.

Oh please. A year ago there was nothing better about one or other as they both have been shite companies and if it's true that Att is updating alot of their towers then in another year they'll be the same two equally shite companies again. Neither of them care.

AT&T was laughably bad in Austin for the LSU game (the entire 4 days I was in town).

I went from Verizon (great signal, nearly everywhere except out in the farthest reaches if the sticks in the middle of nowhere) to Firstnet (terrible signal because it runs only on at&t towers at the moment) because I’m eligible for it amd because my monthly bill is $40 less.

Money aside I would jump back to Verizon in a heartbeat. I hate at&t service.
