It’s been going on for about a week. Anyone know the cause and/or solution?

Check the battery usage in settings > battery by battery usage by app. There are a few settings. That can be adjusted, but probably something is running in the background that shouldn’t.

you probably have data, wifi, bluetooth, location, etc all going at once. you probably also need to shutdown all things running and updating in the background.

Clearing RAM and rebooting fixes many problems.

I had this happen with an iPhone SE. If you allow it to continue, you will greatly shorten the battery life. In Settings, go to General, then into the Reset menu. I think the reset that fixed the problem for me was the "Reset Network Settings". I had to do the reset a couple of times before the problem was fixed. If you are not comfortable with this, back up your phone with iTunes and take it to an Apple store.

Check your LTE service signal coverage, if signal is low your phone will increase power on your wireless radio to try to get better receive signal which uses more battery and device also gets hot.

CNET reports says iPhone users are reporting that iOS 14.6 has caused a problem with battery life. LINK

Same for me. I turned everything off and enabled low power mode - may just keep that on. I've heard keeping it in heat can be bad for it for the battery.

Had this happen to me, iPhone 11 started getting really hot, and battery life went to trash, did the update to 14.7 and found battery life was still a little better but not like it used to be phone still getting hot… took my phone out the case (full protection water proof case) thinking that may have been the cause, turned out taking it out the case just made me feel even more how hot it was getting … downloaded a app battery & charging test which will tell you the temp of the battery found after using phone for 20 mins temp would get to 40-44c ( 104F to 112F) after a few days of this happening noticed my phone starting to swell.. made a appt with the apple store, they checked it and said I have a malfunctioning battery and replaced my phone for free

What a crappy product, can't use all the features of the phone without it turning into a POS ...time to upgrade
