I’m finally ready to break the Apple chains and head off into the Android wilderness but sadly I have to leave my wife behind as she is not ready for this adventure.

What issues should I expect with us having different OS’s?

I know we will want to use WhatsApp or some other messenger but what else?

I think we will both start using google photos.

If you use WhatsApp or GroupME then it's no different really. iMessage is great but it's highly integrated with the other features of the Iphone.

We went Android to iOS and still use everything Google we can. It is much better than the stuff Apple has.

use Facebook messenger..since it's "Facebook" dumb apple users will be more likely to buy into it

Your biggest hurdle is going to be training your wife not to send you videos through MMS. It's been three years since I switched and I still haven't gotten it through to her how simple it is to upload it to our google photos.

Everything else is a non-issue.

Apple video mms sent to an Android looks like video I took on my Nokia in 1999.

But now I've actually started shopping for Android phones and there are too many choices. Maybe this is another reason people stay with iPhones. Fear of buyer's remorse.

Issue I ran into when switching from iPhone to Android was group messages using iMessage. Even though I disabled it and unregistered, it still has not worked correctly since. I hate Apples integrated bullshite.

CAD laughed at "Issue I ran into when switching from iPhone to Android was group messages using iMessage. Even though I disabled it and unregistered, it still has not worked correctly since. I hate Apples integrated bullshite."

reaction-based replies from iphone users are also annoying as shite.

Biggest hurdle is your family complaining their bubbles aren't blue anymore

The worst are when it says "CAD reacted to the text'...'" It doesn't tell me how they reacted, just that they reacted. I've started replying to my wife's texts by saying, "Bottomland like the text" just to annoy her.

It's taken me about to years to get my wife to consistently send videos over Google photos...

I just give my friends with Android a google voice number and use Google apps to get their messages.

I use just a regular text app (Textra right now) on my Note. Group texts, MMS, vids, whatever to iPhones just work fine.
