I think Apple is up for the task and honestly it will take their laptop product line up a notch. They're already popular and last a long time but if Apple can knock the processor out of the park like they did on iPads then we are going to see laptops that perform very well thermally and allows Apple to optimize the shite out of their products. I've already seen MacBook Pros last 7-8 years, imagine when they have full control of the parts.

And I say all of this as a non-fanboy.

Reminds me of the tiles interface from Windows Phone. Too bad Windows Phone had zero support because their UI back in 2010 was innovative and much better than Android or iOS's offerings.

Was by-far my favorite interface. I loved that phone, but lack of critical apps killed the platform.

Where they uninformed? Yes - Where they incorrect? Yes, but probably because they have been on iMessage for some long they didn't realize Google had released RCS to compete, and become more robust.

But is it superior to iMessage? it's different. It adds some much needed features to base messaging, it brings some things that iMessage doesn't have... but it's also missing some things that iMessage has, and it doesn't do any kind of encryption. I'm not complaining about these things mind you, but it's the reason I use Signal for anyone that will join me down this rabbit hole.

When Apple "invents" something, it's the greatest invention of all time. Nevermind the fact that other manufacturers have already invented that invention. Just watch...the moment Apple embraces in-display fingerprint readers, the media will lose their shite and call it "revolutionary".

The only reason Apple is successful is because they've built a brand around exclusivity. They've become a social status symbol. The first couple of iPhones were amazing and close to flawless. But the software layout grew stale and frustrating to use over time. Very little has been done to fix this issue and I refuse to buy another iPhone until there is a complete revamp of iOS. There should be absolutely no reason for me to have to leave the Phone App in order to mess with the Phone App settings in 2020. None.

I strongly disagree with this. There are controls such as notifications and location setting that I don’t want any app developer, no matter how reputable they are, to be able to manage in their app, they should be controlled by the system.

Bingo! People have them because they think they are cool. Like my Jeep driving keep up with the Jones brother, he always gets the new iPhones when they come out but thinks I can't afford one because I'm rocking a $500 OnePlus phone. Little does he know it's half the price, just as if not more powerful than his phone and is more feature rich.

Looks like a good update, but almost everything I read is following androids lead. And since I am a recent android to Apple convert, I’m happy about that. Can’t wait for home screen widgets, some form of app drawer, smaller call screen, pip, etc
