Yep, super frustrating. I've been using GPM for many years - and on the Family Plan. Are some of you saying that 2 people on the same Family Plan cannot use the app on different devices at the same time?

Google Listen (great podcast app) - discontinued
Google Reader (great RSS reader...in part because it perfectly integrated with Listen) - discontinued

OK, so besides the fact that CAD is borderline retarded and an asshat to boot, can we agree that YT Music has improved significantly? I mean, we are almost back to Google Play music quality now. Oh, and Chromecast Audio is still the single greatest music invention, ever.

Not sure on that as I never used it that way. I will say that I asked GA to play a "powerpop music mix" and the stuff played was legit.

Mine worked fine at my old house, moved to a new house, with the same network, and it appears to have bricked itself somehow

I sub to YT premium and it's garbage tier quality. Tidal, is far and away a better use of your money if you care about audio quality.

Holy resurrection of a thread. Google music should’ve stayed. Google is its own worst enemy and it kills me how that company survives.
How many services have they killed in 20 years? Easily 50+.

That’s a company where idiots are in upper and middle management but they’re so rich it makes no difference.

It's really mind boggling. That app was close to perfect. Still, YT Music is not the total shite show it was when the change first happened.

they literally worked on the transition for like 8 straight years and it was a total crash & burn.

how shitty are their developers that they couldn't figure out a way to map over basic google music features to that trash app?

i was happy to pay for google music. HAPPY. now i'm back to downloading and managing my own music library again and it was no small feat to sort it out.

protip: google 'takeout' is hot garbage. yeah they "give you" your data but in the case of google music they vomited the 40,000 music tracks onto my hard drive in a single massive directory that no music tool could sort out.

when i uploaded it, album artwork, cuesheets and sound quality was perfect. what i got back was trash. the digital equivalent of someone storing your gumballs and when you ask for them back, giving you a gigantic slimy wad of chewed up gum.

good luck with yt music, alx. i'm sure it will work out great.

wut?

do you even plexamp? clueless guy checking in who controls and manages his music experience instead of sucking on the teat of 'random cloud provider' who at any time can deep-six your favorite album or increase prices or shutter their site altogether.

i think i'll be just fine.

and i'm sure google has your back too, alx let me kmnow how those chromecast audios at the heart of your music universe work out.

just because i stopped paying for it doesn't mean i uninstalled the app and there's still the remnants of my music collection from once-upon-a-time there. its still a PoS.

Um, nope There is zero difference between the first day of use and today. Support? You say this like it means something. Have you checked what they are still selling for?

I mean, being a moron is ok-there's nothing you can do about it, but combining idiocy with being an a-hole makes you just a terrible, terrible human being.

How the hell'd we wind up like this? And why weren't we able to see the signs that we missed?
