Got an email saying Google Fi is lowering prices adding more data. Just a PSA.

I have 3. Maybe most of their subscribers have 2. Works for me. It's been excellent.

Damn, finally cheaper than my AT&T prepaid family account.

Might make the switch when we get new phones.

This almost got me but I think I'll stay on my pay by data used plan. I've hit $50 once since 2017 and I was in Croatia last summer.

Was thinking of paying up so I'd not conserve my usage away from WiFi but nope, I'm cheap.

Who do you use? I had visible which was cheaper but the speeds were too throttled for me.

Still cheaper to stay monthly if you don't use much data, plus over 6GB is unlimited anyways.

I'm going to Europe for 12 days in May, should I go with a month of the Maximum Fi plan, or just pay the $10/day for the international plan addition?

My plan with Fi was to get a random number and use it for a month (or basically the 12 days I'm in Europe) and then go back to my normal ATT sim. I already went ahead and ordered a Fi sim since I don't get charged until activation, and my phone has dual sim

I just buy a simm card in Europe. They are available everywhere. You get a euro number but 2 or 3 gigs of data for anywhere from 5 euro to 20 euro depending on the country.

Up to you really.

I would just do the flexible plan where it's the same $10/gb with free texting.

I've never moved off flexible plan and do well. I used Waze the whole time driving from Zagreb to Dubrovnik. My bills for South Africa and Peru were also under $50.

You don't really use your phone on a trip the same way you do stateside, at least you shouldn't be watching YouTube videos while away from your hotel.

Fi is usually seamless in picking up the network, though watch out for it connecting to 3G, which is what happened to me when I landed in Istanbul and took me a second to figure out why my connection was worthless. Easy to switch the network to the proper speed though.

I have been using Cricket. It's identical to AT&T in every way but $90 total after all fees and taxes a month for 3 lines. 4 lines is $100.

Cricket uses the AT&T towers, what does Google Fi use?

Here in Nola area it's TMobile. I think I read that different areas can use different companies towers.

Im pretty sure its Tmobile. I use Total wireless and it uses Verizon towers. 50 bucks unlimited for 1 line. I was thinking about switching but idk. the only problem i have with no service is in my kids school. Other than that its been good. Except for 5g. 5g sucks in BR

Isn't one of the main oddities or quirks to Google FI is that all voicemails are left in the Google Fi app vs. the normal iphone phone app?
