Not great Bob. Even when disconnected from the internet it still records audio and stores it locally until there is internet again and then uploads it. Wild.

If I had a single LG anything in my home at this point I’d be factory restoring them or blocking them from the internet in any way possible yesterday.

Yeah, as soon as it gets internet back it uploads all of it that was stored with no internet.

Has anyone filed for a data processing request to see what LG claims it has captured? My LG washer and dryer have zero connectivity, so I can't try it out.
Totally, totally, egregious. This is what happens when you have too many f@#*%ing lawyers in the privacy department. Even a lowly CIPP/IT would have seen this as a problem.

Yeah, I’m aware of all that and completely Ok with having none of my TVs on my internet.
I’m a broken record on here as to never connecting them to the internet and just using a premium streaming box of your choice to do all that through.

The only “premium” streaming boxes that historically have not spied on you are UGOOS and even they are pivoting towards streaming DRM certifications that REQUIRE the box to be a locked down mystery black box where it would be business malpractice to not spy on you.
Only solution is unlocked or hackable box running your own OS paired with DRM-free content.

That’s the entire problem. Tech should never be trusted. You have a mystery box that is set up so that Apple can do whatever they want with it. It’s not yours and you have no control or insight to what actually happens on it. Just “trust.”
All the best video tools are 100% free and open so there are only a few reasons left why a streaming box would be locked down. All of those reasons are pro business and anti customer.

So, if my LG OLED keeps a record of what I watch, why can't the TV's WebOS share that info with me when I've had too much to drink and power-off and can't remember the service and video when I want to finish the next day? I am forced to go service to service hoping each of many "Continue Watching List" will help me.
I've asked AI this question. Reply is that each streaming service considers such data to be the service's property which is not shared with the TV's OS. I guess LG is cheating on the services and not sharing with me?

The TV it's plugged into is recording your apple tv data/audio through the source you are using to display it (HDMI port).

I understand that.
Apparently these LGs will hop on any open network and report back home with the data they’ve collected.
Which is fricking crazy.
None of my personal TVs are connected to any internet.

Im disconnecting mine and hoping there is no unsecured network nearby for it to jump on.
