Been with ATT for over a decade. Paying way too much for shite I don't use. Example: unlimited data. 7 days into this billing cycle and we have used a total amount of 1GB of data.
Even with switching to their lowest plan, it's still over $100/month for two lines. I miss a call, it's a good 24 hours before the voicemail comes thru. Anybody using Puretalk, Tmobile, Mint, or Consumer Cellular? If so, how was the service?

Google Fi. Pretty sure it uses T-Mobile towers. Been very happy with it.

Depending on where you are, Visible can be good for the price.

Pay for your phones outright and get on prepaid. You can pay $300 up front for the year for 16 GB per month. Comes out to $25/month.

I switched to Puretalk at the beginning of last year and haven't had any issues.
Guys I work with use Cricket and same thing...no problems.

I e used Consumer Cellular for years and it's been great. I get 3 gigs of data and rarely exceed that as I work from home. Even if I do, they just bump me up to the next level which is about $50/mo but I do have to go to their web site and make the change back to the $40 level before the next month. They use ATT towers and don't throttle data like Cricket and some other low cost carriers do

Google Fi can be a good deal. Their price structure is:
1 phone - $50
2 phones - $80 ($40/phone)
3 phones - $75 ($25/phone) I know...
5 phones - $80 ($20/phone)
Yeah, you might as well get 3 phones if you are going to get 2. Do you have an adult child you can add onto the plan?
This is for their lower tier unlimited plan. It comes with 35GB of 5G data. Sounds like you don't use much data. I generally use 20+ GB of cellular data per month, and my high point was 32 GB.

I'm happy with Mint Mobile, a pre-paid wireless service that uses T-Mobile's network. The cheapest plan is $15/month (when you pre-pay for a year) for unlimited talk, text and 4GB of data.

Thanks for all the great advice. After scouring over all of your suggestions, and doing a lot of online comparisons, it looks like TMobile is the best fit. $80/month for two line with my military discount. 100gb of data, 5gb of hotspot. They gave me a free 3 month trial thru e-sim to make sure I had a good signal. I get the same signal strength as my current ATT, but I'm getting 5G now, where as I was only getting 4G with ATT and paying more.

US Mobile is a good choice in the Verizon network.

Spectrum works great....We are on lower data plan but can upgrade when we travel with just a phone call for thirty days at a time...Moved our iPhones over and our bill with fees and taxes for 2 phones is 30.00... Came over from Verizon and our signal N of Hammond is decent while at home we use wifi dialing....ATT sucks.

I use ATT Prepaid. It's $41.50/month for 8GB with rollover.

I switched T-Mobile and have no service in 3 areas between Parrievlle and Laplace.

I have the same problem with AT&T. I’ve tried calling them several times about it and I may as well called Taco Bell and told them about it

I switched from ATT to TMobile in December. I’ve had terrible service in New Orleans. Switching back to AT&T.

I have had Verizon for about 30 years (back when it was Alltel then Cellular One in my area). With 5 phones plus a couple cellular watches, I am investigating options.
We tried Mint mobile for a kid's phone, but his coverage and data caps stink. He is asking to change providers. So I think that rules out T-mobile.
We spend a ton of time in rural areas, and I had Cingular/AT&T for work for years, and those phones just didn't cut it. Haven't had that service in 3 years now, though.
I think I'm stuck with Verizon, but I am tempted by all these low-price deals out there.

I've been on Cricket Wireless for over 10 years. Started out paying $35/month. Haven't paid a penny over that since. I think it's up to 10GB of data a month now for that price. Uses AT&T towers and I've never had issues.
