There’s a guy in my neighborhood that has a PC repair business. A while back I asked him the same question (Mac or Windows). His response was, “If everyone owned a Mac, I’d starve.”

Macs break quite often. One survey (CR, I believe) put the failure rate of macbooks around 9% in the first 3 years. Some PC laptops were around 16-20%, but Macs are more expensive to repair. Also given that they are more expensive to buy in the first place, they are more likely to be repaired than replaced.
Macbooks are prone to overheating, which often results in logic board failure. These are very expensive to replace.
If everyone owned a Mac, viruses would be written for Mac rather than PC. That would throw quite a huge problem the other way.
Your boy would be eating quite well if everyone owned a Mac.

I personally prefer Chromebooks and Chromeboxes. We keep one Windows machine just for the rare occasion it is needed. Our Windows laptop is very rarely used and a pain in the arse in comparison having to deal with software updates and antivirus software.

All the more reason to own a Mac.

They definitely are not but I often gear that mac's have better software support for music editing and video editing

Historically Macs have had niche areas like video editing and other creative content type applications where they had more or better support on applications. Not sure that's really the case very much any more.
OTOH, the new M1 chip Apple switched to seems to be a significant improvement in CPU especially performance per watt. Their laptops (and other devices) using the M1 are getting great reviews.

I have several Apple devices. Apple TV, Airpods, Homepods, etc.. and I could never get into the Mac OS. Too pricey, didn't seem worth it, Windows 10 works fine for what I need to do.

I own a MacBook Pro and have a Dell laptop along with a chromebox.
Chromebox does everything I need to do on a normal day of work as 99% of what I do is web-based. Starts fast and displays to three different monitors.
I use the MacBook for meetings and remote work from home and love the thing.
The windows machine slows significantly with each passing month. I don’t hate it, but it takes significantly longer to boot up than the chromebox.

I've used both. Apple makes a great product but the price difference isn't worth it imo
This, honestly.
A lot of people will say "Apple laptops last longer" or "Apple laptops are faster" and then realize they're comparing a $2000 Mac to a $450 HP. I have a gaming laptop at home that I got on sale for just under $1000 that will run rings around my friend's brand new Mac.
Still, there are other benefits. The MacOS doesn't have as many viruses written for it (because virus creators target the largest market share), but if that's your goal just learn Linux.

Probably because it has an old school HDD in it. A modern windows 10 machine with NVME SSD is nearly instant on from cold boot.

What most people don't factor into this equation is that Macs come jammed packed with great software. It's not just a question of hardware.

Looking at my launchpad right now and I don't see a single piece of "great software" that came with this macbook pro.

Are macs really that much better than windows pc’s?
Not at all in today's world.

Depends on what you're trying to do with it.

yall are arguing with Gman, you could literally show him a test where the apple computer or iphone failed and he was say it didnt.

Is a 2k Mac better than a 200 dollar windows laptop with 4gb of ram and a spinning platter HDD?
Absolutely.
Is a 2k Mac better than a 1k Lenovo laptop, with a touch screen, 16 gigs of ram, SSD, and an i7?
No, not it's not.

Well for starters it doesn't have a look and feel interface like it was designed by Mickey Mouse.

Sorority girls and hipsters use Macs. People who work in the real world use PCs.
