It would be interesting to see where design went with him still alive how different it would be. I don’t think he would have allowed shite like the camera bump or the notch.

"What do you want to do with all the cameras?"

"Just glue on a huge square and put them all in it"

"Oh and put stainless steel around the lens housings so they stick out like a sore thumb even more"

Pixel 4 isn't much better but at least the lenses are stealth.

So pre-orders are this Friday and the "ship" date is Sept. 20. Does that mean it's like in the past and the devices arrive on the ship/release date?

I'm a current Pixel 2 owner that is looking to switch back to an iPhone so I was waiting to see what kind of price drops would happen on the older models (XR and XS.) The price for a new unlocked 11 is $700 which is tempting.

I wish they would just make the phone USBC and get rid of lighting.

The lightning cable is superior for mobile devices and accessories IMO. usb-c for everything else, unless of course it's a laptop that uses more than 100 watts.

What? It's an old proprietary connector that is very slow and doesn't even support fast charging. The new iPad Pros are USB-C.

And:

Apple is fixing this, kind of. At today's event, it announced that it's packaging a new 18W USB-C fast-charger with its iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max phones.

They are slowly phasing it out 100%.

Yeah, that's pretty pathetic.

It is just so they can get people into the iCloud services. Meanwhile, I'm rolling with 256gb plus SD card storage on my Samsung.

I've had my 8 for a year. I see no reason to upgrade.

Just paid off my iPhone X last week.

Dropped it yesterday for the first time and the display is all messed up. Exterior looks flawless still. Forgot I've got 3 more weeks of apple care + thankfully. Sending it in today.

Thought for sure I was about to have to buy one of the new ones.

I'll stick to my iPad pro 10,5. More than powerful enough for my needs.

well that is your opinion about something that you are factually wrong about.

I love the people who complain about Android security, but use Gmail and chrome on their iPhones. Like, now you are giving all your info to Google and apple. At least only Google is getting mine.

Reminds me of my father in-law who thinks it is crazy that we have Google homes in our house because anybody could be listening. So every time I go to his house I walk by his iPad and say hey Siri...

But in all seriousness, my wife is wanting to upgrade from her 6s to an XR. Any idea when the best time to buy would be for deals. Right now I can get the XR for 499 after trade in

Turn your devices on for the first time and it works. No need to load any programs. I'd say that's pretty seamless.

Messaging from a computer in Android is as seamless as opening the app and scanning a qr code, no need to download anything else. Works right out of the box.

As far as privacy, apple may not be selling your data (although they are most certainly using it) but if you use any service such as Gmail, Google maps, Google photos, YouTube, or chrome, which I would guess covers about 99% of iOS users, Google is getting all of that info anyway

Edit: your link doesn't support your argument that data on iPhones are more secure. It says apple may not be selling your data, but as soon as you download any their party app that info is fair game.

Which I don't have to do. Same with my watch.

Once again Google is the issue. I avoid Google apps as much as possible as well as Facebook. People that use them regularly are as dumb as people that use Android. At least with Apple products I have a choice. I see no choice at all with Android.

Apple can’t even release a couple of lack luster phones without the android bois getting their panties in a bunch.
