Anyone have a 5G phone and a provider that offers 5G service?

Is there really a big difference over 4G?

Yes I've had 5G for over a year now with Fold 2 and now Fold 3 and it's definitely noticeable over 4G. I get around 130Mbps where I live.

Work sent me a new iPhone 12 on Verizon.
Our rural area doesn't have 5G... but went to Houston not long ago and saw the phone switch to 5G. I didn't notice a difference in coverage or quality, but I was getting download speeds of around 70Mbps, where my personal non-5G iPhone 11 (also Verizon) was only getting 5-6 Mbps.
Last time we were in Ascension I got 5G in the Cabela's/Tanger area. Same deal - almost 100Mbps through the Speedtest.net app.

Yes iPhone 12 with TMobile. Noticeable difference in both speed and coverage in Houston and surrounding areas.
At least in the TMobile implementation, 5G means expanded coverage and when you are close enough to a tower, much higher speeds with their mid-band spectrum. I've only experienced mmWave (the super high speed, extremely low range) 5G in an airport.

I find that the biggest difference in speed is simply network congestion. 4g is perfectly capable of 80+ Mbps in real world settings. If you're unfortunate enough to be in a saturated coverage area, you might get <1 Mbps speed. In that case it wouldn't matter if you had access to 5g.

Pretty similar to LTE advanced (5Ge for at&t) for me in BR.

5G with Tmobile does not peak as fast as others but it is available all over Baton Rouge. I even get 5g on the water in my boat until it hits the rig towers where they have 4G that is actually usable.
5G is way better than 4g, it is extremely noticeable. I just did a speedtest, 147mbps

I don't really see much of a difference on 5G.

Got this in Dallas on iPhone 12 Pro on AT&T 5G+ (mmWave).

If you are on Verizon and have a 5G capable phone its best to go to your settings and change the cellular voice and data to LTE unless you live in a major city.
This was recommended to me by a friend who is a network engineer with Verizon. I have a iphone 12 max. I was having issues with drop calls etc. Once I changed the setting it got better.
