Don't give up so easy, the piece of kit you need is a wifi jammer, just use it enough to give her intermittent failures of all her cameras.

Should drive her nuts

the problem is that she's already painted you as the one harassing her. You should've filed a complaint against her a long time ago so that you would be on the winning side her. Sadly, you aren't.

Good luck. I don't see any way out of this situation other than you moving. Pray she doesn't show up when a realtor is showing your house.

Flag is going up within the next 10 minutes. Hopefully it eats up all of the cloud storage and battery juice.

But yes, she has called the cops and code enforcement on me for ridiculous reasons multiple times (maybe 15). I'm positive she has a log of report numbers going back to when I moved in three years ago. It all started within a month of me moving in, which was when I replaced a rotten fence with the exact same style of fence

Have one of your kids pee outside.

Call cops saying your neighbor has kid porn.

Problem solved.

Since I know the Arlo cameras pick up motion best on the sides of the FOV, I just put a tall bush on one side, and a 3x5 American flag on the other. Both have been moving non-stop since I finished

And yes, I looked to see if I needed a permit to put up a flag. Don't need one for a national, state, or military flag, but you need one for everything else

Now you need a fan blowing up at the flag for maximum movement, er, patriotism.

In Metairie. The code enforcement people stuck another notice on her door this afternoon, and I'm guessing it wasn't good for her. I was sitting inside, and all I heard was her screaming, "You mf'er! frick you! Quit messing with my fricking house! This is my property, mind your own God damn business".

She then proceeded to literally stomp around the yard looking at her flood lights and waving her hands in the air with the piece of paper from the code enforcement guy. That lasted for about 10 minutes

I guess this is also a lesson saying that motion cameras aren't the way to go. They annoy the shite out of me because of all of the ancillary garbage they catch, and the important things they miss. Hardwired with a DVR is best

Reading that statute and following it back it seems like that statute is in reference to monitoring devices used to monitor or apprehend lawbreakers, not those devices simply monitoring a private property.

This. I would argue no damage to her. She is damaged because she can't spy on you? The Civil Code provides -

Art. 668. Inconvenience to neighbor.

Although one be not at liberty to make any work by which his neighbor's buildings may be damaged, yet every one has the liberty of doing on his own ground whatsoever he pleases, although it should occasion some inconvenience to his neighbor.

Thus he who is not subject to any servitude originating from a particular agreement in that respect, may raise his house as high as he pleases, although by such elevation he should darken the lights of his neighbors's [neighbor's] house, because this act occasions only an inconvenience, but not a real damage.

Moreover, while Louisiana is a one party consent state to record conversations, you have to be a party to that conversation. Not being a party is a violation of LA Rev Stat § 15:1303. I would argue, that she clearly is not a party to the conversation which may be occurring through gestures and other physical interactions which she may capture. If you and a friend were signing a conversation and she recorded it she should be in violation as she isn't a party to that conversation. I would stand outside and drink beer with a friend a flip each other off for a conversation and call the blues.

Yup and threaten to sue if she doesn't take it down.

If she doesn't take it down, sue her.

ETA: I'm not a lawyer and I'm also not paying for it, but thats what you should do.

Definitely not going through with that. I've done small claims court before, and it isn't worth it in 95% of cases.

Update:

Looks like the flag and bush worked. She moved the camera overnight. I am gonna move the flag again today.

Another W for me

Looks like that might be for LEOs. It under a chapter with this heading SUBPART D. OFFENSES AFFECTING LAW ENFORCEMENT

You might want to "axe" a lawyer. But screw that lady and her BS cameras. I'd put up an IR flood light and she wouldn't see shite!

I am seriously considering buying a cheap outdoor scrolling led sign off Amazon to set up in the camera's FOV. Then I can set it to display some of my opinions about my wonderful neighbor.

If they have a motion camera, just wear out the batteries. Or maybe your neighbor isn't as insane as mine, and you can get an IR light.

I'm having the survey company come out to mark the boundary on her side, and will be putting up an 8ft fence (need a special permit for higher). That's as tall as the eaves on her house

I probably wouldn't either.

That's awesome. I know your point is to get rid of the camera, but you could give her a pack of cr123s and just say you bought them on accident. Try and make peace a little bit even though your flag will kill them soon enough.

It's way beyond that. I posted it further up, but she's already called either the cops or code enforcement on me about 15 times in three years for stupid little shite. I only actually got in trouble once, and that was just fines for fixing a picket fence without a permit.

If I tried to talk to her, she'd probably go on a rant for 10 minutes, hit herself in the face, then call the cops on me for hitting her

Hire me to come talk to her and "make the peace". I have a history of having my way with women from Metairie
