Yet you're gonna spend over a grand on an iPhone?

A new unlocked XR is $599. The 11 is $699.

You can do all that shite perfectly with a secondhand Motorola for a fraction of the price.

I mean, it will cost less but you will not get consistent updates and it will be virtually worthless in 2 years.

The Apple premium is not nearly what it's made out to be. It's prob $100-200 premium over a comparable android for something you use everyday and works well for several years.

A second hand Droid will last for years too. There's nothing superior to an iPhone in durability.

Not to mention Apple even admitted to making old phones obsolete with software updates.

The truth is if what you said is all you really want to do with a phone, there is an endless supply on the market right now that can do that and last for years. It seems to me you have an affinity for Apple just because "some people" you know get new droids every year.

I'm a Google pixel fan boy. I won't be using another phone for the foreseeable future.

This is the dumbest comment I've ever read in an apple circle jerk thread

Hands down

Some of those cited advantages are extremely thin.

“ZOMG YOU CANT REVERSE CHARGE ANOTHER PHONE WIRELESSLY!”

Why would I want to pay 10% of my batteries charge to give another phone 5%?

Induction charging at these voltages are massively inefficient. Adding it as a feature is a waste of space, resources, and money that could go towards making a better product rather than adding a bullshite talking point.

I’ve owned 2 Motorola’s in the past (granted this was a long time ago), they were shite quality.

Most people who buy apple phones are suckers anyway. $500+ for a phone is a fricking racket. Knew one dumbass have to get his iphone on a monthly plan.

How many times have we seen these types of comments.... followed by the same individuals camping outside an Apple store 8 months later drooling and claiming Apple changed everything by adding the feature?

Really?

You’ve seen a horrible idea whose very concept being dictated by the laws of physics (read: not Apple propaganda) then being celebrated?

There isn’t a question of it being okay if they just implement it right. In an era that ultra portable batteries and universal chargers are ubiquitous, why should I discharge my battery (damaging it due to high heat no less) to charge yours for a lesser amount (with excess energy going to heat).

The best induction chargers at this level are 50-60% efficient.

Notice I didn’t say anything about the rest of the list. So stop trying to fit a square peg in a round hole to shoe horn this into past experiences.

they are customizing things on their phones that most people couldn’t give two shits about. I use my phone for a handful of things: calling, texting, a little internet browsing, and taking pics.

Then why spend 500 on a iPhone when u could do all those things on a 50 dollar cricket phone?

The $100 dollar Samsung I bought last week has more features than I need. If I have to replace it every 6 months I still come out ahead

If a phone is a “financial decision” for you, you’re spending more than you can afford.

A smartphone is pretty much a necessity for my job. Spending $700 or so every 2-3 years doesn't exactly move the needle for our finances or anything
