Both iPhone and flagship Android phones all do the same stuff these days, just in different ways. Unfortunately, Apple has the lead on texting with iMessage.

This is exactly my take. These days most features are similar, but iMessage cannot be replicated. Hangouts was probably the closest thing that Google ever had, but they abandoned it. Google Messages with RCS is probably the best way to go.

If you're more technical in nature, Android can be amazing, but get ready for some disjointed experiences until you can customize it the way you'd like. That being said, the home screen customization is way ahead of Apple. Also, connecting your phone to a computer and actually being able to access/transfer your files is a plus.

I would recommend Google Photos to replace the iCloud backup, if you're in to that. It's free to upload and store photos and videos, at a slightly reduced resolution (but you'll probably never notice), and the indexed search to go back and find certain pictures is amazing.

It's aesthetic thing. It just seems amateurish, like it's 2-3 versions behind iOS.

iOS looks the same as it did on the iPhone 3.

You are comparing the iPhone 11, their flagship phone at the time to a pixel 3a xl which is the budget version of the 3xl.

you do know RCS is basically iMessage for every phone right?

It's awesome, it's almost like Photoshop for widgets. There are templates that you can fully customize (what I did) or you can make your own from scratch.

Yes I am. Because those are my last two phones. And in my comparison I said that there wasn’t much overall difference. Also, the 11 was not the flag ship, the 11 pro max is.

the 11 and 11 pros and maxes are all the same minus the screens and cameras. They all share the same processor. Where as the 3aXL is literally a budget phone from the 3xl. I wasnt dogging you i was making it clear so people will see through the lies that are spread by people like TGman. Comparing a budget $340 phone to a 700 phone and saying their isnt much difference is a major Win for the $340 phone IMO.

Not that it's Android's fault, but Apple's uniformity looks professional, and it helps that almost every professional who isn't in IT has an iPhone.

Girls and teens = Android.

Gotcha, I misunderstood your point

To be fair though, the 11 was the most budget phone at the time, and the prices were $700 for the 11, vs $479 for the 3aXL.

But I agree with your overall point, the 3aXL was just as capable, and even more capable in some respects. Had I not gotten the 11 for free, there is no chance I would have made the switch

I might be the only person but I always feel like "rotating" OS's. For example, I'm on an iPhone 8+ for 2-3 years now and previously was on the Samsung S7 (I think). I got tired of the S7's sluggishness so swapped back to iOS.

Now I feel like going back to a Google Pixel 5 (soon) or a Samsung S20. I probably won't because of iMessage and FaceTime with my mom and brother who live out of town.
Sure I could have them download Duo or whatever but iPhones have them locked in so they probably won't.
