Seems like a guy who would be nice to have on a roster.

Dude is a huge part of bringing Union F'n Berlin to the TOP of the Bundesliga , which itself is unbelievable, and yet our smarter than everyone coach left him home on the all important tune up camp. It's comical.

At this point I would call up Sargent, Pefok, and Pepi.

Put me in the camp that is perfectly fine with the often-injured Pulisic not playing a lot with a month to go until the World Cup

Pefok is pretty much the only snub that upsets me though

At this point it’s more than a snub, it’s a fireable offense if US leaves Pefok and can’t score. It’s one thing to get upset about a guy playing for a bottom table team or a mid European league that you think should have been the 25th or 26th guy on the plane as depth.

But Pefok is the starting forward for a team atop the bundesliga table a year after winning a golden boot in Switzerland and playing in the champions league. He’s 26 and fully developed physically.

The options ahead of him right now are a 22 year old Sargent who couldn’t score in stops at the bundesliga and premier league, a 19 year old Pepi who couldn’t score in the bundesliga, or a 21 year old MLS false 9 with size limitations.

I don’t think Pefok is some silver bullet, on the other hand his resume speaks for itself at this point and his production matches or bests any American in Europe over the last 1.5 seasons.

With the expanded 26 man roster, there’s no excuse for leaving him off.

I fully agree.

I also suspect Gregg will be gone barring a quarterfinals appearance

Unless we win the damn thing I think he should be gone. Not sure who we replace him with though. I’m not a fan of keeping national team managers longer than one cycle.

We need to talk about that Pefok assist, holding up the ball within the 18, and leaving it off.

I mean, he did good to hold it up but it’s not some world class play. It was a great finish though.

World class? No. The context is about Pefok being snubbed because “we already know what he can do.”

Main takeaway is that he's doing something our other 9s probably aren't. He just offers a different option and as we saw against Japan, sometimes you just need to lump it forward and have a guy up there that can win it. And with the expanded roster, he needs to be in Qatar

Was Pefok subbed off with an injury over the weekend?

Ya he limped off, haven't seen any updates yet. Hopefully it's just a small knock.

Good God Ferrera just flubbed the easiest goal from 6 yards out that would've (almost assuredly) sent Dallas thru to the next round.

I was at the match last night, Ferreira was atrocious and may have picked up a calf injury.

Arriola may have done his groin as well, that’ll be something to keep an eye on. Potential good news for Malik Tillman and Jordan Morris.

Ironically, the best player on the pitch last night that had USMNT ties was Sebastian Lletget. It’s amazing how aggressive he is on the ball with FC Dallas because he isn’t afraid if MLS midfielders/defenders
