Morocco is going to take that group.

Canada and Swiss are going to play to lock out anybody else. a draw advances both. And they are the kind of pussies to not play for pride. If one beats the other, they could bounce them from the tournament, but they won't try to do that.

Mexico can't lose. They need to play for a draw, preferably a win or their fans will riot.

Mexican fans don't care about a meaningless game. They want a win and a loss is unacceptable. So Czech has their work cut out for them to advance as a third place team.

SK just needs to win to advance.

A draw locks South Korea into 2nd place finisher in the group... they have the win over Czechia to have the tiebreaker go their way should both teams finish on 4 points

I’d imagine Switzerland should be motivated to win. Both teams are essentially locked into 1st/2nd at minimum already. Might as well try to win the group if you’re them.

Alot of these fringe 3rd place teams need to beat the crap out of their opponents today.

Probably need 3 points with a good goal difference or guaranteed 4 points to qualify.

Looks like we may get a Spain - Portugal R16 and France - Germany R16 game unless Portugal beats Colombia.

Hate that they’ll have to be run simultaneously but it has to be done this way.

I mean this is always a thing with last round of games. Even in domestic leagues the last match day games are all on at the same time.

Yeah I know it’s by necessity (prevent fricky wucky like the disgrace of Gijon) but it makes it hard to monitor while I’m at work lol.

Who are we routing for so that we have a good path to the semis? There are so many variables…

Sorry if this was discussed yesterday, but can someone explain to me why it wasn’t a penalty against England at the end of their match yesterday? Video of said incident below, thought it was odd in real time that it wasn’t stopped and reviewed

I thought it was a clear penalty on replay. Not sure what criteria was missing that prevented VAR from calling it.

I hate that the first match starts at 2. I’ve got nothing to watch at work today :(

Because Concacaf referees are incompetent and require a gun and gunshot wound as a threshold of fouls.

Bad performance yesterday by the Honduran ref. I'm Honduran and the Telemundo commentary was praising his performance

We really need a winner between Qatar and Bosnia. Whoever wins is 95% likely to play us in the round of 32. If anything it'll allow the staff to start preparing for the next opponent asap.

There's a bunch of other variables in play for the rest of the pathway
