The pre-tournament favorite will have to settle for a chance at 3rd place

Spain shocks France 2-0 & advances to the Final to face either England or Argentina

France will face the loser of ENG/ARG in the consolation match

Happy for Rodri, but everybody else on that team just annoys me the way they play. Except Nico Williams I think he makes Spain far more exciting.

Forgot about Laporte - I respect the long game he played switching to Spain and being a consistent performer for over a decade.

Yamal is fun to watch. It’s crazy to say they’re boring, but they are. It works beautifully though.

Didn't expect France to look completely mid today.

France hasn't played anyone particularly strong till now.

They couldn't score against a team that the US put 4 goals in against.

They coasted on others being intimidated by their name

France has the better forwards and had a better center back, but their midfield has played mid the entire tournament.

Spain was able to take advantage and was the better team today.

France wasted so much talent and the penalty complete discombobulated them.

Happy for Spain, and hope they win it all. Tomorrow is one of those matches where you hope somehow neither team wins cause both are shitheads, but I guess I’d rather England than Messi and Argentina getting continued undeserved wins with the help of the officials.

ETA: once Saliba went out, France’s defense collapsed and played lost. He covered up a lot of weaknesses in the back for France and their weak midfield.

Saddest thing is to think historically how great the midfielders were for France have been and this tournament they were just mediocre.

Even in the high press era, you can’t outrun the ball. Spain dominated in the midfield, and when they lost the ball France could only ever hoof it long or just give it right back within a few passes.

The French distribution was piss poor the full 90. The runs were poor. They never really brought numbers because they were too terrified of the counter (justifiably)

The penalty was not exactly the most deserved but they deserve to lose. The midfield got their arse kicked

Tchouameni being injured didn’t help and Rabiot is unimpressive.

Spain deserved the win and that French LB should never see national team action again.
