Wild how well Cape Verde has done so far this tournament. Checked their roster expecting all their players to be foreign born like how all the Curaçao players are from Netherlands but majority are actually born in Cape Verde. Really small population to be holding their own

Typically colonial nations tended to ship their best to their colonizers. There’s a reason Benzema played for France instead of his home country, for example.
